“I'm a frequent diner at Jibaritos y mas but my boyfriend wanted to try something new. We looked up a couple of places and this place came up. It had 4.6 stars so we decided to check them out, and we were so glad we did! I had the steak jibarito which lacked no flavor. The steak was marinated in mojo or vinegar I'm not sure but it was sooo good! My boyfriend had the steak sandwich and loved it as well. The service was awesome! The owners were very nice and talked to us while we ate. We tried their chips with HOMEMADE guava sauce made by Ana ?. Definitely a MUST TRY! I was not disappointed from the minute we walked in til we left. We will definitely be going back!“
“By far one of my fave spots in Chicago. Every time I’m there they’re exploring something new and delicious but are consistently true to their flavors and culture. This Cuban Filipino fusion rings true to its inspirations and never disappoints. This was our first time getting the 5 course tasting meal and every dish was amazing. Great flavors, textures, and as a couple that doesn’t drink a lot we loved the N/A drink pairing. We were definitely full by the end.Alfredo was an incredible server/host and was very attentive to our needs and creating a special environment for us. Would highly recommend for a good date night or to celebrate a happy occasion.Very intimate setting!Dietary restrictions: Good with my shellfish allergy. The substitutes were still incredible. Mushroom for lobster.Parking: Easy street parking. Def can find a spot within a block. Maybe harder at peak peak times.“
“Amazing service, highly recommend this spot. There is limit seating however the restaurant is clean and decorated beautifully. The staff was quick and efficient. Bilingual servers were a plus! All the food was fresh and hot. Customization were allowed which made for a great dining experience. Street parking is available. Overall a great spot for Cuban and Caribbean cuisine. I will definitely be a return customer. To-Go options and full coffee menu available.“
“Bia's is my go to place when nothing less than comforting will do! Nothing like a DELICIOUS well seasoned, cheesy, steak sandwich on any day will do people! And...a cafe con leche and pastelillo de guayaba will make your day. Service there is great. Happy faces and pride in their work is evident with each bite. Thanks Bia's!!!“
“Food was delicious, very well seasoned. Service was nice, owners checked on you.Atmosphere had good vibes.Ordered Steak Jibarito, Skirt steak dinner (added shrimp) which was a little salty.& apps such as chicken & beef empanadas. Everything was good especially the empanadas, black beans and white rice. They also make cocktails.“
“The place was recommended by a friend and let me tell you this food is so delicious! Had the Cubanito steak sandwich and it was life-changing. From the bread to the meat, it was crispy and delicious. The empanadas were great as well. Give this place a go. I'll be back many more times!Parking: Small lot next to the business. Or street parking.“
“Just as delicious as the original Lazo’s, owned by the same wonderful family. The croquetas, sweet plantains and guacamole were exceptional. We missed Cuban food after moving here from Miami. This is the next best thing to Abuela’s cooking.“
“I was there on November the 16th the hospitality it’s great , the server was fenomenal check most of the time if I need something else, and keep the table clean. I had the manchego empanadas deliciosas, for my entre the halibut wrap in banana leaf Delicioso“
“Food is phenomenal, I try out different things each time. I love the beef, and shredded beef empanadas. Try out the breaded chicken sandwich, and the rice! The service is quick, everyone inside the business is moving. The inside of the restaurant is like an old school ambiance, it has a huge window in front that lets in tons of light so you can enjoy the morning with coffee and sick food. You won't feel nasty after eating either trust me it's worth it. Shoutout back of the yards, wish I had a pic but I'm going to go pick up some food soon so“
“They do not accept same-day table reservations - be aware. But you can call for an estimate on the current wait time. Ours was answered promptly - 2 people ahead of us so anywhere between 15 - 30 minute wait.1 large table is available upon arrival and we play immediately. We ate, had drinks & an all-around blast.I lost all night but will be back. This is one of the best pool halls in the city.“
“A small unassuming enclave, full of BIG flavor; with a relaxed yet professional environment. The food was amazing, staff polite, and coffee top shelf. There are many places in the area that are twice the price, with half the quality. I could only include 2 pics because everyone else ate theirs too fast! There was complete silence while we ate, and my family NEVER shuts up. That’s how amazing the food is.“
“One of my favorite places in Logan square I go here all the time. Today I was feeling sick so I decided to Uber eats it rather than pick it up like I normally do. However my sandwich came in wrong, I called and they were so kind to personally deliver a new sandwich to my house. Literally the sweetest thing. Quality of food and customer care continue to be a 11/10 :)“
“We've been going to Marianaos since they were in a little shack on Milwaukee. The location may have changed but the delicious food and quality has not changed. There's a ton more menu options which is also very delicious. We take our out of town family here every time they visit. It's definitely a go to!“
“I went with a few coworkers to this nice hidden gem. I ordered the Cubano sandwich and the sweet plantains. They were so good and complemented the sandwich most delightfully. Staff were very friendly and pleasant, enjoyed the Spanish music as we had our lunch. I would recommend giving this place a visit. ??“
“Islands Cafe was deeeee-lish and Asel, the woman who works there, was very nice, provided excellent customer service and is a really good cook! I got a chicken sandwich (that came with plantain chips and garlic oil) and a passion fruit tea with strawberry popping. O. M. G! Everything so good! My sandwich was one of the best pressed sandwich I've ever had! Asel toasted it perfectly. The chicken was cooked just right. Juicy and hot and cooked just the right amount. Cooked until done, but not overdone. All toppings were just the right amount too. The bubble tea was great as well. I can't wait to return to try their chicken with maduros, black beans and rice lunch special. Thank you Asel and Islands Cafe!“
“I picked-up lunch at Cubano Bros for the first time yesterday. The lady at the registration was very nice & also helpful! I ordered a Cubano, the guava & cheese pastry, & a Materva soda. The Cubano was very good - one of the better ones I've had, but I am no expert. The guava & cheese pastry was good but not the best I've had. The Materva was good, too, and the staff helped explain all the differences between the Cuban sodas. I'm skeptical of trying new places, but Cuban Bros did not disappoint.“
“Enjoying the sunshine ☀️ at lunch today and sat on the patio on Armitage.I ordered La Completa with the upgraded Ropa Vieja and cup of soup - choosing the Sopa de Cherna (Grouper). La Completa comes with rice, beans, plantains, and the selected protein. I really enjoyed this platter. The beans and rice were well portioned and seasoned. The ropa vieja meets the renown that it is known for.The Sopa de Cherna was really tasty and I thought the cup was an excellent portion size when accompanied with the entree.“
“The food is very delicious and the prices are low compared to the quality of the food and surroundings. In service, if a little more attention is needed, I am referring to the spirits of the waitresses, they need like life or having a red bull before starting to work, the rest is very excellent!“
“I had the ropa vieja and it was pretty good. First time trying the dish so I don't have a basis for comparison, but the meat was juicy and tender. The dish also came with a side of tostones, rice, and beans which were all good. Some of the friends I was with got other dishes and found the meat to be dry. The portion sizes also aren't very large relative to the price. Overall a pretty decent spot.“
“If you're looking for Latin American food products like Goya, etc. this is the place to go on the north side. Also, the restaurant in back is great for Latin American dishes. Whether you like Cuban, Mexican or some other country, you can probably find the product you're looking for or the already prepared dish in the restaurant. I recommend“
“As a first-time guest, I found the menu wonderfully intriguing, with some unfamiliar ingredients that piqued my curiosity. While the initial explanation didn't cover everything, the staff's attentiveness truly shone. Upon mentioning my dietary restrictions, the lady I spoke with was incredibly accommodating and understanding. Not only that, she happily provided a delicious alternative. It turned out to be an absolute delight, bursting with flavor alongside some of the best coffee I've had in town. This experience, paired with the elegant ambiance that perfectly complements the Gold Coast vibe, left me inspired by their dedication to excellent service and delicious food. A must try!“
“So good! We shared the pulled pork wrap with I believe Swiss cheese. Also the yucca fries and some spinach empanada. My aunt had a Cafe Con Leche also. Everything was so delicious service was good bathrooms were spotless environment atmosphere very cute and comfortable. Definitely will be back to try other things exclamation point to be honest I've had Cuban food before and I thought it was kind of bland but everything here was seasoned so well full of flavor!“
