“Lovely new Turkish restaurant in the area. The bread is to die for. We tried adana kababs, pide , iskender, lentil soup and some of the eggplant appetizer. Each dish is delicious and flavorful - except for the lentil soup. Unfortunately, that was pretty bland.“
“Last night, we hosted a small Ramadan dinner here, which turned out to be a great success. I was impressed with the level of service and the quality of the food. Staff was extremely helpful and made you feel as if you were in Turkey.I look forward to returning in the future!“
“Chicago is a great place, the food is really great and the restaurant is really high quality, but luckily the waiter was very cold towards us, his attitude towards us spoiled our appetite, we didn't understand what was going on, the waiter was mature enough to really cause such a thing to happen. Fortunately, my younger brother, Hamza, was really friendly and offered us tea, but I can definitely say that we felt very bad. We went with 3 friends, 3 tripe soups, 3 lahmacuns and 3 Iskender kebabs. There was only one couple except us, no one else was there, if it was busy. I would understand, but there is no table per person per waiter. Due to the waiter's attitude, we packed our Iskender kebab and left. We were sorry to experience such a thing, because we have been in tourism and restaurants for years, I would not want someone to leave my own restaurant like this. I am really sad to write this comment. How important is a comment in the internet industry right now? And I know personally that it is very difficult. Best regards“
“I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I live close by so it's a good place to stop by and get lunch or early dinner. The owner is super nice whenever I stop by and he makes all of the food by order so it's always fresh! My go to is the chicken tostini, but I've had about all of the tostinis and tried the menemen. I can't say anything about the authenticity, but the taste is definitely there :)“
“I recently dined at Turquoise café and restaurant in Chicago, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was decent, with their mix grill standing out as particularly tender and well-seasoned. However, I found their mezza platter to be just okay, lacking the appetizing factor I was hoping for. On the brighter side, their salads were fresh and delightful. Their Lahem Ajun is crispy and well baked. But what truly stole the show for me was their Arak; it was incredibly delicious and refreshing, adding a perfect touch to the meal.“
“Cira is phenomenal. From the atmosphere, service, and food, everything exceeded my expectations. I had so much fun talking with my servers, eating delicious food with unique flavors, and relaxing with friends in comfortable seating. The staff went above and beyond in their service and care. Cira provided me with the best dining experience I’ve had. I HIGHLY recommend Cira.“
“The food here is incredible. Like seriously, some of the best food I have had in the city. I’ve never had Georgian food before but wow. I was very impressed. I got the IMERULI KHACHAPURI (Georgian cheese filled bread) which was incredible. So warm and flake and pairs amazing with the CHASHUSHULI (Georgian moderately spicy beef stew). The Chashushuli was amazing, the beef was so tender and it had a nice spice to it! It went well with both mashed potatoes and rice! The service was okay. They were understaffed and my server forgot my Khachapuri until I reminded them but I totally understand because he was the only server to like 8 different tables. It was really dark in there. And the lights kept flickering which was a bit annoying. I understand the vibe but it felt a little too dark in there when the sun set.I will be back, this food is amazing!“
“Stop what you're doing and come get brunch here. Seriously. This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Filling. Savory. And reminiscent of my travels throughout Eurasia and the Middle East. Step into this old school establishment and be greeted by the friendly staff and beautiful bar adorned with colorful bottles. Walk towards the back wall lined with bottles of wine to your table where the experience begins. The brunch is the main event. Get the Turkish tea, I like mine with a little sugar. Then dive face first into the enormous spread of good eats coming your way. Eggs, menemen (tomato eggs), house baked breads, veggies, kofta, varied cheeses and spreads...ugh I can't get enough. I left with a full belly and heart as we sat for an hour digesting, sipping tea, and having great conversation. Seriously do yourself a favor and visit this place before it becomes too popular of a spot. 5/5“
“We originally checked out this spot for a comedy show, but decided to come early for the food. We got falafel, chicken wings, Arab swag tacos, & watermelon sugar. The Falafel was nice and crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside, and I loved it with the dill sauce that came with it. The flavor in the Arab swag tacos & chicken wings was PHENOMENAL! I highly recommend this spot. Entrees are $14-16 at this time. Cash & card accepted. The staff was super nice and welcoming. The parking lot was large with plenty of spots, and free. If you get a chance to check out their comedy show, do yourself a favor and go. 50% of all proceeds benefit Palestine, and the comedians were hilarious! It was a great show for the $20 price tag and went about 2 hours. This is a place I will definitely be back to when I'm in the Hyde Park area.“
“Me and my family visited a few times typically on the weekends. First thing that we noticed every time was our server Sara, with a big smile and a welcoming demeanor made us feel home. She was very nice to put us (my wive and kids) in their guest room since it was very busy in the restaurant (it’s a small restaurant but the amount of people dining is high). Food was prepared fast and service was timely and nice. The homely feeling came even more after trying the food. Genuinely made home style, and fresh. Very good experience over all. Sara is amazing.“
“Bought two chicken wraps and one gyro wrap to go after spending the day in the city. Was expecting shawarma type wrap, but it was more burrito style. It was great and huge portions, filled with delicious and fresh vegetables and marinated tender meat. Would love to go back and try more traditional Turkish dishes and be able to sit down and enjoy the ambiance. Highly recommend, service was great as well due to kind & friendly staff!“
