“The food is delicious at Lawrence's on 22nd and Canal Street! The staff are amazing, down-to-Earth, & I love the atmosphere! I feel safe at Lawrence's and genuinely cared about! I would like to recognize, Ms. Rose ?, for a raise, promotion, or some sort of acknowledgement of the excellent managerial and personal communications skills that Ms. Rose possesses! Thank You Lawrence's for always being so kind and I love your fries extra crispy... lol...!Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu! You can always order fries, have a dessert, Cole slaw, and onion rings! I guarantee that a vegetarian will love ensuite their level of vegetarian or vegan eating guidelines!Dietary restrictions: Yes, the menu definitely can work for someone with dietary restrictions! If calories are an issue, small portions, and non-fried foods would be a great choice! For those that have to watch sugar intake, there are many ways to make a meal with lots of protein and low sugar work, & still be scrumptious and satisfying! Fish is an excellent source of protein and can be an excellent source of omega-3s, that support heart function, help pregnant women and their fetus or fetuses develop wonderful brain functioning and neuron efficiency in both the mother and the baby or babies living in the, "Mommy-Inutero-Hotel-Tummy", add omega-3s are great for mood stabilization and they even cause your skin to shine!Parking: The parking lot is very safe, full of spaces, and to have free parking is a luxury in Chicago, Illinois...! Please be very respectful when you park here and throw garbage out in the plentiful garbage cans that are all around!Also, on the weekends Lawrence is becomes super busy with 21-year-olds or younger, some older, and the place is packed! If you would like to come during the week for family time try to come earlier and not late on the weekends!I always see the staff cleaning up the parking lot and the less that they have to do is better!There is such a peaceful feeling in this parking lot and it is nice to be right by the canal!Kid-friendliness: I absolutely would recommend this Lawrence's for birthday parties during the week for children, it is a safe environment for children, and could be a wonderful place for a party or graduation!I just would recommend that parties for children be during the daytime or during the week when it is not super packed with the wonderful clientele of younger age that love to hang out here!Wheelchair accessibility: Lawrence's has a huge parking lot and a wheelchair ramp accessible entrance to the left when you pull into the parking lot on the far left side! If I'm not mistaken there is also a wheelchair accessible entrance and ramp to enter Lawrence's fish and shrimp on the Canal Street entrance! The bathroom is wheelchair accessible, the tables to eat at are wheelchair accessible, and I am quite certain that the staff would make any adjustments for someone who may have a disability and would need a different spot to eat inside while needing to utilize the wheelchair!“
“Been coming here for years!! With new owners this place is still a gem great customer service very very nice staffI drive an hour just to come and eat my jumbo shrimp !! “The fish and food is soooo good! I live in Atlanta but was able to pull up when I was in Chicago last year. I love that they are opened late for those late night cravings. They only had one woman taking orders and she was working like an ox all with the best attitude! She definitely could have used some help. Nevertheless, it was a good experience and I can't wait to go back!“
“I’ve order several times before tonight, and it was always super delicious, on par with Harold’s. Tonight I ordered hotdogs and the order came wrong, they made a new order and delivered it in about 10 minutes. I cannot say enough good things about this place. “Food was AMAZING! Got the Gyro burger meal, everything was so delicious! From the burger to the lemon pepper fries and not to mention the lemonade, and the fact that they have mild sauce is amazing, I stay in the Southside and mild sauce is hard to find. Not to mention VERY affordable!.. also somthing thats hard to find now a days. The lady was very nice, she answered all my questions, did not make me feel rushed. Very friendly. You can 100% tast the love and passion they put in the food. 100% recommended ?“
“Pulled up to this spot yesterday and greeted by Angela with a smile. Super dope customer service and fresh food. The only thing I would change is the lemon pepper. Look into getting that powder (crack) lemon pepper instead of the salty one you provide, it's a game changer. I wish you much success and I'll be back!“
“Best Shrimp in Chicago since 1917! I’ve been going to Trohas since the mid 90’s! I love their shrimp & clam strips! Their coleslaw is a notable! It tastes like no other! The fish chips are a treat! Everything is fried. This establishment is takeout only! They are the perfect Friday night seafood joint! I wish them continued success!“
