“I keep seeing this brewery pop up and for good reason! It’s spacious, so you don’t feel crowded even when there’s a crowd there. They have a pool table and darts that add to the fun and entertainment! Excellent selection of beer and a great tap. Staff are the sweetest and I hear they have popups there sometimes too! “The perfect bar, I fear. I can’t believe I have ANY pictures in this place because I’m always just talking to someone or playing pool or queueing up songs on the jukebox. There’s something about this place that you can’t really take a picture of: the people are always friendly and chill, you can tell it has a low staff turnover rate, the food is ALWAYS good. This is the kind of bar which would be the ultimate muse for a poet from the 1800s. My one drink photo is an espresso martini that was made with love, but know that they put just as much love into every beer they pour. It just isn’t as instagrammable.“

“I’ve lost count of how many burgers I’ve eaten from Rootstock over the years, and somehow it still manages to exceed my expectations every single time.

This burger became a pandemic takeout staple in our house, but whether I’m dining in or grabbing it to go, the quality never wavers. The burger is everything you want it to be—perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and somehow both comforting and indulgent at the same time.

And then there are the fries. Plenty of places serve fries with garlic aioli, but Rootstock’s version is one of those dishes I find myself craving weeks later. Crisp, golden, and consistently excellent.

What impresses me most is the consistency. Restaurants can have great nights and off nights, but Rootstock seems incapable of missing. After years of visits and takeout orders, they’ve earned my trust completely.

I’ve eaten burgers all over Chicago, and this remains my favorite. If you live nearby, consider yourself lucky. If you don’t, it’s worth the trip.“

“I've visited Osito's Tap a handful of time, but now I definitely need to be a regular. I was here last night for their Preservation bourbon tasting. It was an enjoyable evening learning and tasting some great bourbon, plus a nice dinner menu created by Osito's Tap very own Executive Chef. I've missed out on similar tastings here before, so I was happy to make this one.

As for the bar itself, it's a speakeasy with a giant Mezcal menu. If you're looking for great cocktails, an easy going spot, and good company. Then this is a place to be at. Definitely a GEM in the Little Village neighborhood.“

“Gaslight Bar in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood isn't to be confused with the Gaslight Club at O'Hare Airport's Hilton Hotel or the old-style Gaslight Club in downtown Chicago. This Gaslight, located at 2450 North Clark Street, at West Arlington Place, is a neighborhood sports bar with three full bars, a year-round patio and a full and delicious menu. Open from 4 to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, 10 to 3 a.m. on Saturday and 10 to 2 a.m. on Sunday, this is a space formerly occupied by Mickey's Bar & Patio. Since Gaslight Bar opened in 2014, it has become a popular go-to destination for folks who love to mix their sports with their palates. I showed up early for Game Day and started with chicken tenders with honey mustard, a bow of tomato basil soup with croutons and parmesan and Kale Caesar Salad with Kale, Romaine lettuce, parmesan, focaccia breadcrumbs and Caesar dressing. For a main event, I couldn't resist the house's best seller, a 4C Smash Burger, a double beef patty with American cheese, iceberg lettuce, pickles, red onion, dijon and ketchup. With house-seasoned French fries. Surely one of the best burgers in town.“

“The people were the BEST!! We are truck drivers hanging around town going to a Chicago Cubs game the next day. We were watching the 2nd game on TV and the lady serving us was sooooo nice and and helpful. We chatted while my husband watched the game. Such a cute friendly hang out ind of place. “My group of 7 ate here 5/31/25 during my Bachelorette party and everything was wonderful. I had made a reservation, but due to some train delays we were running late. The hostess called to verify we were still coming and pushed our reservation back to accommodate us. The appetizers we had were delicious (Kung pao cauliflower, pretzel bites, and the spinach and artichoke dip). Everyone loved their food and raved about the tater tots. Lol At the end a manager brought us over two complimentary skillet cookies and a round of champagne to toast. I have a friend who is sober and the manager went and got her a sparkling grapefuit without a second of hesitation. I truly appreciated all of it. There is a 3% service fee that they will remove if you ask. We had them remove the fee and left that money as more tip for the server. I will note that for our large party they can only split a check in two or have it all on one. The hostess that I spoke to originally did inform me of this when I made my reservation, but it is something to keep in mind.“

“Update: It's s probably been 2 or so years since I've been in. Was in the neighborhood and had to stop in for nostalgia. Service is just as good as I remember and the food is still top notch! Shrimp Po boy and the wings tasted like I remember. Love the addition of the On Trend: Fire : It Slaps cocktail menu.

Excellent craft beer selection beyond just IPA's. Food has been consistently solid for the 7+ years I've been coming here.“
