This place is, hands down, the best Cuban restaurant in Chicago - and it's not even close. My husband and I visited Saturday for an early dinner. The place is clearly family run, and they have outstanding service. Our waitress was so incredibly sweet and attentive - it really felt like we were part of their family for the 90 minutes we were there. We had an empanada trio to start - the dough is outstanding - very flaky and buttery without feeling heavy or dense - ham and cheese was the highlight of those. My husband had the ropa vieja that he said was incredible - we almost had to roll him out of the place, he was so full. I had a breaded chicken breast that was perfectly executed and GIGANTIC. We both had the yellow rice as a side, which I highly recommend. The rice is cooked and seasoned to perfection, and loaded with crispy pieces of fried pork - really just perfectly executed rice. The prices are incredibly affordable and BYOB only adds to that. Nobody rushed us through the meal so we stayed for a moment to enjoy the cute place and the friendly people. This place feels like a warm hug.

The food has great flavor, true to its Cuban roots. The staff is very friendly and efficient. However, I have noticed that the portion sizes are getting smaller. I guess because of the cost of things. My wife had a sandwich, and it just had a merger slice of meat. I had a full meal and could easily finish everything on my plate, which is very unusual. But the food taste great. Superb flavors. I'd still go back and enjoy myself.Kid-friendliness: I always see full families here when I visit. Again the staff is very friendly.

We came here for lunch based on many of the positive reviews and ordered a Sandwich Cubano and a Sandwich De Ropa Vieja. The sandwiches were tasty, but tiny. Note- not small, TINY. I had 2 very thin slices of ham, folded in half, a single chunk of roast pork, exactly 2 pickles, 1 on each half of the sandwich, and a speck of mustard. There was a hint of cheese so it had to be there somewhere. The sandwiches came with nothing. For an extra $3 we could have ordered them large, which means you get a handful of potato chips. If you look at the pictures we took of our hands with the sandwiches, you can accurately see how tiny they are. For what we spent, we left hungry and there are other places that are just as good and a better value.

Amazing service, highly recommend this spot. There is limit seating however the restaurant is clean and decorated beautifully. The staff was quick and efficient. Bilingual servers were a plus! All the food was fresh and hot. Customization were allowed which made for a great dining experience. Street parking is available. Overall a great spot for Cuban and Caribbean cuisine. I will definitely be a return customer. To-Go options and full coffee menu available.
