We did not stay for dinner but the atmosphere was perfect.

I mulled over posting about this experience at all but I find I’m still a bit frustrated a few days later I think it’s worth sharing. My partner and I had a reservation for Sunday dinner and we arrived, were seated, and promptly left alone for 10ish minutes. That’s okay, there’s plenty to take in within the space itself and we were looking over the menu deciding what to get.
Our waiter comes and informs us they are completely out of fried chicken. We legit thought they were joking because more than half the menu is fried chicken. He let us know they ran out of flour and then….walked away? We spent a few minutes reworking a potential order and if we wanted to just try the food grilled but the waiter didn’t stop by for another 10 minutes and by that point we felt the experience was just ruined.
I’m not the type to leave bad reviews, but the way the service staff interacted with us made the experience so much worse. It wasn’t just we had made a reservation, specifically traveled to the neighborhood for this dinner, or that it was a surprise date for my partner that made it such a bummer to hear they were unable to make the majority of the menu but the way the server spoke to us. They were so rude and obviously just over it. I feel like they came into the interaction really defensive when we gave them no reason to think we’d be a problem table.
I wish we had gotten a notice from the restaurant since they had our number from the reservation, we never would have made the trip otherwise. I’m not sure we will try again. Maybe with enough time.

The concept of this place is so unique and fun! The service was beyond exceptional. They were so accommodating and kind. The food was so flavorful, the texture of the foods were *chefs kiss* and when they warn you of the spice level... believe them xD Great place for kids and the photo ops are so so fun!

The food was good. The dressing of the salad was very tasty. The mochi donuts as well as the drinks were great. Good service.

You definitely don't want to miss this place!
Not only do they have delicious donuts and a great variety of food and drinks, but the whole spot is a vibe! Perfect for snapping photos or videos - it's super Instagrammable with all the fun props they offer. The service is quick and friendly, and the chicken is extra crunchy (so good!). The drinks have unique flavors that I really enjoyed.
For just $4, you can even take some adorable, memorable pictures in their photo booth area!
I'd totally recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and great vibes.

I saw this place on some Food Network show and knowing we were going to Chicago soon, looked it up. This restaurant is unique on the inside. There are about 8 tables, so I made a reservation to make sure we got in. Our reservation was at noon on a Friday, and there was only one guy serving the entire place. He didn't even take our order until 12:25pm. Our water didn't arrive till 12:45 pm. Once we ordered, the food came out relatively fast.
The spicy cucumber salad was of ample size and VERY spicy to us. The fried chicken for the sandwiches I believe are thighs and the breading was great. It's just that the chicken pieces were small on my sandwich, but bigger on others. The fries and the onion rings are fantastic.
We all (party of five) had never tried a Mochi donut so we ordered three different ones. We liked them all. I'm not a donut fan, but these might convert me.
This is a one and done place for us because of the service. It is worth going once for the ambiance, onion rings, fries, and chicken. And I might order take-out next time.

I really loved the concept and the food was pretty good. The owner is also a really nice guy and clearly cares about his customers.
The only issue was the place feels kind of dirty. You can’t see in the pictures because I didn’t take any closeups, but the floors are muddied and everything is kind of scuffed. There is this awesome van in the deck that kids can play in but it’s absolutely filthy inside. The seats are dark gray with years of dirt and the seatbelts look moldy. It’s pretty nasty.
As far as I can tell the kitchen and bathrooms are clean, but the place feels like it needs to be touched up (and that van needs to be deep cleaned). I still think it’s awesome and would recommend going, but the wear and tear makes it feel less cool than it would be if it was refreshed.

The actual food was awful (except for the fries) everything else looked like it had been reheated in a microwave and the chilli paste the burger had was just a salty concoction. I was worried we’d get sick because the fried chicken looked weird like wet (like when you microwave frozen chicken in paper towels) and the kitchen also looked dodgy (you can see into it). We did not get sick at all but it was just unpleasant. The drinks were good, the deserts were good, the photo booth is fun but they need to clean those props, they look so greasy from everyone trying them on. Giving it 3 stars cause the employees were awesome and it is a unique experience, I just wish it was higher quality. You also don’t need a reservation, we went on a weekend and we were one of three tables there for hours.

The staff were really friendly and service was good. We had fries, potato croquettes and bubble tea. All of which were good, but nothing to rave about. Cute outdoor space.

This is a scenario where social media and photos make a place look cool and it actually sucks. You can get a few photos and make it look like it was really great, but that's about it. Fake fun! The black and white backdrops are appealing if you squint, if you are eyes wide open, it just looks filthy. The food is so, so AWFUL--I am not a picky eater and it's barely edible. The donuts aren't even good!! The service, also awful, the drinks look fun-awful. Save yourself the trip and go anywhere else and it will be better than this place. We all had a few fries, a few bites of chicken, sips of sugary chemical laden drinks and a price tag of $210 for 7 people. Now I'm just hoping my kids don't end up with head lice from the photo props!

We meet a friend and his family for dinner at 2d on a Sunday. We loved the black & white kitschy cartoonish Parisian inspired theme. We also enjoyed the food. There were 7 of us in total. We were disappointed that our 7 orders were not served at the same time. Instead they came out one by one with a 12 - 15 minute delay between the first order and the last order being served. Three of us ordered entrees that were supposed to come with Asian slaw, but none came with the orders. We had to request this from our server.
We enjoyed the fun costumes and backdrop Parisian setting which made for some hilarious funny group photos.
All things considered, this is a unique restaurant and worth a try - although we will not be adding it to our regular rotation.

Hype is the art and photo options. Food and beverages were average and over priced. Service was awful and disappointing. They served the drinks and food sporadically. One person got there food and five minutes later another person got their food and so on. The fried chicken platters didn't come with the coleslaw as advertised. We had a reservation for 7 on a Sunday and they were not ready for us. Sat us right next to the kitchen door and pick up window. Servers were not attentive to our needs. Like refills or lemon requested for water. I would have asked for salt and pepper but I didn't want to yell for service. Had to ask for knives so the people at my table could eat before their food got cold. The bathroom was dirty and I didn't feel comfortable in the confined dining space. Could not hear the server or the people at my table because of the acoustics in the dining area. The Bangkok Thai tea with caphe was good. The drinks were pretty . They ran out of the pineapple mojito so I got a tea. Probably won't ever go to 2D restaurant again. Very bad experience.
