Food was good, but the service was super sick, I will never go back because of the service

I have been a patron over 20 years and never have I ever complain but today was horrible. To start it off the young lady who took our order had a very nasty attitude. When she brought the food out that I order was the smoother porkchops dinner which I had send back I knew it was going to be a problem. Because they only put 1 and a half of porkchop which I showed her and she agreed. I asked for silverware she turned around and said it's sitting right there. My daughter said why would she ask if it's sitting here so my daughter said she didn't want her food she snatches the food up flops back in her seat and just stares at me. I started to think maybe I shouldn't eat this food. Long story short the guy comes out and tells us he will take care of things. If he took care of the bill why we end up paying $33 for 2 chicken wing 2 sodas and a porkchop dinner that was terrible and him saying that seniors discount is 65 and over I felt so disrespectful today and my friends and I always come there This was my last time. I even asked to speak to the young to see if I had offended her in any kind of way. I was told no it wouldn't do any good. I thought that was really sad because her co-workers even noticed what was happening and other patrons If we like people to come to our establishment we have to treat them right. Longtime Customer

I was there for my aunts retirement party, and from the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles, the food is amazing, the drinks was on point. The atmosphere was welcoming and the bathrooms was clean. The waiters did an amazing job we had a big crew and everyone was tooken care of. I will definitely be back to this establishment.

I got the veggie plate. The dressing was good but my mom wasn't a fan of the greens. It was a pickup order and the inside was nice as well as the workers

I attended this restaurant yesterday and ordered Baked , Mac & Cheese and Candy Yams, I placed a order to go, Smothered Pork Chops, Black eyed peas , the Pork Chops was tough and not seasoned and the Black eyes peas was bland not seasoned what so ever. They need to step their game up before I go back there.

My husband and I went here after church on Sunday Feb 15th, 2025. Let me say that I typically don't eat soul food out because not many can compare to mine as I am a Chef. This food was outstanding. Almost had me thinking I prepped it myself. My husband had the smothered pork chops with greens, yams, and dressing. Nothing was left on his plate. I had the fried chicken with Mac and cheese, greens, and yams. The Mac and cheese is smacking. Greens had a great flavor. The yams were excellent and not too sweet. We'll definitely be back to this place. Drove all the way over from Oak Brook IL to check them out. Now I see what all the fuss is about!!!!
Vegetarian options: Best soul food restaurant west of Austin. That's all I'm going to say.

Vegetarian options: Collard Greens and Cabbage 🥬 is the best I have ever tasted
This place deserves a five-star rating however, we were not offered the option to stay and dine-in. We travel a lot so we don't have the option of eating in any place other than our vehicle or hotel. We were not headed to our hotel so we were forced to eat in our vehicle. Besides that, we arrived shortly after a flash mob did. Even with the crowd, we received our food very quickly and it was worth the stop. Hopefully next time we'll be able to dine in.

First off I want to say this was the best chicken hands down. I got the jerk chicken my boyfriend got the fried chicken. Both very good ! I gave 4 stars on the food because it seemed like the mac and cheese and collard greens were room temperature when brought to the table ( both plates) should have been hot, at least if not, warm. . I ordered a bacardi and coke and then the long island. They DID not skip out on any liquor, great drinks ! I gave the atmosphere 4 points because it just seemed like a big squared area with just tables put wherever. They could make it more inviting by adding big vases and some decorations. Maybe some candles on the tables. Just seemed like we were eating in a chow hall of some sorts. I will definitely be coming here again and am going to try the catfish this time. Maybe just a pick up. I was looking for romantic and this wasn't it.
