They couldn’t find a more annoying person to take phone orders. Sounds like she has the IQ of a banana.
Super cute interior to make you feel like you're in a little alleyway in Cuba. Their signature cubaño was as good as promised. Pork was delicious, and the cheese got caramelized on the grill. Service was so good. They have a little outside seating area as well.
Will have to go back and try everything eventually. It was that good. I wish I'd gotten two sandwiches (and extra pickles lol)

this is actually the first cuban spot i visited when i moved to chicago over 12 years ago. i recently moved to lakeview west, so this is now fairly close to me and i bumped into it on a walk the other day.
today decided to go in and grab some croquetas to go, which i was craving and went ahead and had a colada as well.
the colada was scalding hot, i think likely overheated because the coffee tasted a little burnt and bitter. had to add sugar to it to make it taste as expected. (asked for a stirrer and got a plastic straw, which is weird). but still tasted better than trying to order a cuban coffee anywhere else at regular non-cuban cafes around the city.
the croquetas, however, were great. reminded me of my grandmas croquetas. so i’d definitely go back to get those again. can’t say much for the rest of the food.
service was fine. no a/c, but it wasn’t a hot day today.
6 small croquetas + a colada for $15.33 seems a little crazy, i could get this in miami for prob half the price. ??♂️
but there’s something about the hole-in-the-wall aspect to this place that reminds me of home a bit.

Food was amazing! Had the Cubano. Sadly… the owners don’t want to fix the AC… the workers are forced to work in VERY hot conditions, making the inside dining untenable on hot days. The staff was VERY welcoming, and attentive, I would for sure go back!

-Small Cuban coffee is 4$ - at any other Cuban place in Chicago is 2$ .
-Jupina juice is 4,50$ - at any other Cuban place is 1-1,50$ .
…
Extremely overpriced place .
No air conditioning inside. Outside 92 degrees, inside 100 degrees.
Something is not right with place .
The impossible beef empanada is so good. Really appreciate the vegan menu

Needed somewhere to dine with puppy who just had surgery. One person who is vegetarian. One person with high cholesterol. One person with diabetes. And with excellent food. Remember we ate here a few years ago. Very happy we were nearby and chose to come back. Everybody’s happy.
