Good local greasy spoon quick bite. Nothing terrible nothing incredible but pretty reasonably priced and I would much rather go there then a large chain.

I drove in from Michigan to drop off some friends at Midway Airport knowing that I wanted to take some italian beef back home with me.
Well a lot of places were closed on Sunday but Anthony's could not have been more convenient, more helpful, and with a great selection of typical Italian specialties at good prices.
I went home with two Italian Beef, a Gyro, Ribs Tips, and a free pizza.
I even had an Italian Beef, while I waited and it was out of this world. The Christmas music was nice, the bathrooms clean, and easy parking.
I know in a week when I come pick them up that I will stop by here first so I can take some home again.
............ well, it's a week later, and I'm here to pick up some friends from Midway and it was all I could think about all week was coming back here to get some more gyros, and italian beefs.
Big baby off the chain

Absolutely delicious! Came one night for ice cream, and ended up coming back the next day for dinner. Pizza is GIANT, but thick with toppings and a beautiful cheese pull.
The salad was fresh and dressing tasted homeade. Soup was so delicious, and everything was super filling and at a great price.
Will definitely visit when I come to Illinois again.

The only thing is that they raised their prizes up significantly. You can get better quality if not the same at any Nicky’s or Jacky's for way less.

This rating is for the Italian beef, Italian sausage combo and the chocolate milkshake only (because I haven't tried anything else yet).
The combo sandwich was delicious and unlike other places, they didn't skimp out on the beef. The sandwich was fairly filled with meat (wouldn't say packed).
The chocolate milkshake surprise me. The flavor surpassed my expectations. I'm actually picky when it comes to where I get my milkshakes from and no I have a new favorite milkshake spot. My only regret was not seeing the seasonal (pumpkin spice) milkshake sign before I ordered 😔. I'm definitely going back to try that sucker out soon.

First time there, very good food. The steak sandwich was so good! Peaceful atmosphere, quiet yet busy with customers in and out.

I’ve been to AV Anthony’s a few times before, but this was the first time I actually sat down and I’m so glad I did. The place has this super cool rustic Americana feel, vintage street signs covering the ceiling and walls. It’s like a time capsule, but in the best way. Definitely gives it character and it top of that the lady at the front was super nice, excellent service.
I ordered my go-to: the Maxwell Street-style Polish, and man, they nailed it. It came out hot, fresh, and loaded. The grilled onions were charred and sweet, the sport peppers with right kick, and the Polish itself had that classic taste when you bite into it, juicy an flavorful.
The fries were golden, crispy on the outside and soft inside and they give you a good portion too. Every bite of that meal was just pure bliss. Solid food that hits every craving dead-on.
This place is worth it, If you’ve ever had a Maxwell Polish and you miss that taste, this spot is the way to go. Casual, cool, and damn satisfying.
