This rating is for the Italian beef, Italian sausage combo and the chocolate milkshake only (because I haven't tried anything else yet).
The combo sandwich was delicious and unlike other places, they didn't skimp out on the beef. The sandwich was fairly filled with meat (wouldn't say packed).
The chocolate milkshake surprise me. The flavor surpassed my expectations. I'm actually picky when it comes to where I get my milkshakes from and no I have a new favorite milkshake spot. My only regret was not seeing the seasonal (pumpkin spice) milkshake sign before I ordered 😔. I'm definitely going back to try that sucker out soon.

I’ve been to AV Anthony’s a few times before, but this was the first time I actually sat down and I’m so glad I did. The place has this super cool rustic Americana feel, vintage street signs covering the ceiling and walls. It’s like a time capsule, but in the best way. Definitely gives it character and it top of that the lady at the front was super nice, excellent service.
I ordered my go-to: the Maxwell Street-style Polish, and man, they nailed it. It came out hot, fresh, and loaded. The grilled onions were charred and sweet, the sport peppers with right kick, and the Polish itself had that classic taste when you bite into it, juicy an flavorful.
The fries were golden, crispy on the outside and soft inside and they give you a good portion too. Every bite of that meal was just pure bliss. Solid food that hits every craving dead-on.
This place is worth it, If you’ve ever had a Maxwell Polish and you miss that taste, this spot is the way to go. Casual, cool, and damn satisfying.

Hamburger deal doesn't come with Fry's. Ice cream cones have gotten smaller since my last visit. I paid 18.45 for two burgers and two ice cream cones. Way overpriced. Wont be back again.

I ordered a hamburger, fries and a medium root beer. The actual hamburger patty was ridiculously small on a normal size bun. 80% bread 20% beef. I dined in and asked for a refill on my rootbeer and they charge you again for a refill. 1st place I ever went to that charges for a refill on a soft drink. Not a good value at all at this place.

We’ve been to Anthony plenty of times food is always good no complaints but today not to happy ordered two milkshakes one piña colada and one pineapple well they both tasted like vanilla and the pineapple milkshake was not thick but kind of watery wasn’t very hot out today so can’t say the it melted
I ordered my favorite meal today but it wasn't very good. For some reason they add salt and pepper to my Gyro. I didn't order my food that way. I was very disappointed. Food is too expensive for them to get your order wrong.

Burger patty supersuper small oval on a large fresh great looking bun. Looks bigger in picture. Fries are good and cheese cup. Also the burger deal does not come with fries as pictured and you pay more for slice of cheese and extra for burgers. Pay for drink refills. Place was busy.

I suggest calling ahead for takeout orders their ordering over the phone system is just perfect 👌. After a long flight is just around the corner from Midway airport. One of the best places to have a quick bite in south side Chicago.
