Haven’t been in years, but glad to see The Abbey is back! It was always one of my favorite venues back in the day. So much nostalgia for this place. Saw lots of great local bands in both the live room and the pub. There is a good-sized stage in the live room with standing room on the floor and a balcony with seating, plus a bar at the back of the room. The separate restaurant/pub section is a nice cozy setting for acoustic shows. Good food from what I recall and strong drinks,...
So many cherished memories from the early Abbey days. The most important Breege was when you introduced me to Margaret Boyd. You said if she Nannies for you you’ll never look back. And so the friendship grew from strength to strength. I could write a book but so many great friendships began and blossomed under your roof.
I've been to The Abbey for lots of shows back in "the day". Now I mostly go for the restaurant. The Abbey as a venue is great. I've enjoyed showed from right up in front of the stage, to in the balcony. The sound is good and I've never been disappointed. The restaurant is pretty good. It's typical pub food and depending on the day/time you go there, the service is hit or miss.
