Great location, nice place, excellent service!
Salad was tasty and fresh (definitely recommend), main dishes ok (salmon smelled fishy a bit, pomodoro meatballs had weird taste).

I walked into Acanto right as happy hour was starting, and it was exactly what I needed after a visit to the Art Institute. I was solo, but they treated me like a regular—super welcoming and relaxed vibe.

I sat out on the patio and ordered the arancino and the burrata with prosciutto off the happy hour menu. Both were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Perfect portion sizes for a light early dinner.

My server, Bree, was awesome—friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations. Even though I didn’t order a full meal, she made sure I had a great experience.

This place is a gem if you’re looking for a classy but comfortable spot near Millennium Park. I’d definitely come back—next time, maybe for the pasta!

I do wish Google let you give more nuanced reviews than 4 or 5 stars. I can't say that Acanto is as low as 4 starts but 5 means it was utter perfection, which is also a high bar. But I'll say this: I stopped in randomly on a whim without doing any prior research and was pleasantly surprised. The honey dew melon is a dish I'd go back for over and over again. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I've had it. Do not pass that up.

My first dining experience at Acanto was absolutely amazing! I live downtown and have been to so many Italian restaurants around the city. The attention to detail and depth creativity of the cocktail and food menu, the intimate and cozy atmosphere, and the incredibly attentive and impressive staff are unmatched! I had the pleasure of meeting and being taken care of by Emily, who was an exceptional server and very genuine person. She ensured my experience at Acanto was unforgettable! I can't wait to visit again! Cheers!!

I went here for a dinner reservation at 8:45 and we got sat down right away but no one took our order for 30 minutes. Once I told the staff they were extremely kind and put the food down on our table in under 10 minutes. They apologized many times and they even gave us three deserts and comped them. The food was pretty delicious so I would eat here again.

Anytime you go to this place you're going to have a good time because they have really high quality food and they also provide a very nice atmosphere. They have really cool drinks. Some signature stuff that really goes over very well and also there's just a unique charm to it. They had this peach dessert with ice cream. That was wow. Is it some kind of torte?

Second time eating here and it was stellar!! I had a taste for Arancini and this is the only place I knew that could do them gluten free. I could have just eaten these for dinner, truly delicious. We both ate WAY more than we should have, but it was worth it! Philip our server was wonderful and had great recommendations of drinks and dessert. Our busser was so attentive I swear he refilled our water after every sip. I have to eat gluten free, but my husband doesn't and he says there's no way you would know any of the stuff I ordered was gf. I got the Rigatoni (beef and pancetta bolognese). They make both the regular and gf pasta in house. For dessert I got Torta Barozzi (flourless chocolate cake, rum caramel, espresso Gelato, and candied peanuts). If you like a salty and sweet combo with a little crunch this is for you! My husband got the lobster ravioli and Crostata di Pesche and was very happy. We split a side of crispy Tuscan potatoes. They may be listed as a side, but they are phenomenal. If you're even kind of thinking about getting them, just do it. The ambiance there is great and you can hear each other no problem. They have quickly become one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city!

Tourist trap with low quality fried food, “bacon bit rigatoni”. Avoid if you want real Italian.

Everything great from sauce to bread to dessert all special. Thank you to our lovely server too, I did not catch her name but she was incredibly kind and respectful, specially after she found out we were there for my birthday. Definitely going back!
