Love love this restaurant! I’d argue that it is one of the top places in Chicago as it has such a fabulous dinning atmosphere and the food is always exceptional! Would forever recommend!

An amazing experience from the managers to the chefs down to the support staff surrounding them. They accommodated something very special for me and my fiancee that will forever be cemented in our lives, a huge thank you to Diego and the pastry chef. The food was immaculate and the atmosphere allowed me to enjoy the company with my fiancee. Come here! they care about the people that come in and the food is something you’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone involved in this!

Great menu, service, and location. I love the vibe. I went there for restaurant week this year, but I have wanted to check it out for a few years now. Very happy with my meal. ❤️

Food and service was amazing and far above expectations. The foodies in our group of seven were highly impressed with the flavorful dishes. Noise levels bordered on “nearly intolerable.” Hard to hear our friends over the din. We picked Acanto assuming it would be quieter than our favorite “The Gage.” Wrong. Service was terrific: our server was patient, happy to suggest dishes, share flavor profiles, and recommend wine pairings.

Our server, Andrew was superb! Portions were on the smaller side but rich and flavorful and filling nevertheless! We will definitely return and recommend.

Acanto and The Gage are neighbors. Acanto features a more exclusive Italian vibe and culture. We sat at the bar and had very tasty cocktails. We visited around 6pm on a Tuesday. There was no wait. Bartender and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The wine tasting class was phenomenal! So articulate and intelligent. It wasn't just about the wine but about the history of Italy and how its wine evolved in response. The sommelier was brilliant. Enriched my understanding of the excellent and representative wines we tasted. This is the right way to teach wine! Bravo!

The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. The warm, dim lighting and the candle on the table made the evening romantic. The host quickly gave me a table.

I'm not sure the food at this restaurant was anything unique for me. The prices are above average, and the food quality is quite ordinary. We found the pasta too peppery, but they remade it very quickly and without any problems.

The waiter was very polite and friendly. However, after they brought us dessert, they immediately presented us with the bill, which I hadn't asked for. There was still a whole hour left before the restaurant closed. I interpreted this gesture as a request to leave as soon as possible.

Acanto seems to be a solid option for downtown Chicago. Stylish, thoughtful menu, generally well executed food. Personally not a fan of very low lighting, but I get the charm. Restaurant Week menu one of the best I've seen in years. Given Acanto's proximity to the Harris, the Art Institute and the Auditorium, return visits for the time being are guaranteed.

Ambiance and service were excellent, food was very good! Definitely get a side of cauliflower with your entree. The tiramisu was also excellent for dessert.

The food and service were excellent during my recently visit. The menu offers many popular Italian dishes, including a number of pasta dishes. I ordered the fusilli pasta with shrimp and scallops, which was superb. My friend ordered a risotto dish she greatly enjoyed. The wine list features an excellent selection of Italian wines, including by the glass, and I chose a delightful dry wine from the Puglia. I recommend Acanto and will return.
