I have been looking for a Mexican bakery in Garfield ridge area with good conchas. If a bakery messes up a concha then the rest of the bread is not good!! There are very few places that make good concha's I only know two. One in Pilsen -Nuevo Leon and one on Harlem and Armitage - La Central bakery. Well I stopped at Acapulco bakery and did the concha test. I was so pleasantly surprised and happy to say not only did they have a delicious concha but their hojarascas hearts were also delicious and very flavorful. 100 percent recommend this place! Best part is they have the mini conchas.

The bread has a very delicious flavor, the cuernitos con cajeta, delicious. And the shells, not to mention very delicious. The guava stuffed bread is definitely not recommended, guava has no flavor and is definitely not guava. I recommend the conchitas and the cuernitos con cajeta. The person who attended us was very friendly.

I used to live in Joliet and I was familiar with Acapulco bakery there. When I saw that they moved to the SW side (like me) I was happy and we’ve been regulars for years now. Best conchas and bolillo rolls!
