Stopped by Ali's Nihari & BBQ for lunch with a couple of friends. We ordered the Nalli Nihari, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Chapli Kabab, and a couple of garlic naans. The Nihari was rich and flavorful, but the marrow chunks were a bit much for me. The Biryani was okay, not spicy enough, and the Chapli Kababs were lacked seasoning. Service was fine, but the place was packed and a bit noisy. Overall, not bad, but not the best either.

Tried Ali Nehari for the first time and it did not disappoint. The food was full of authentic flavour, well-cooked, and nicely balanced in spices. Portions were generous and definitely worth the price. If you’re craving proper traditional taste, this place is worth checking out.

Nihari was really good. However don’t try their Chapli kabab. They are actually selling small burger patties and calling them chapli. I live in Toronto so my Desi food quality bar is very high (spoiled by Ridgeway plaza in Mississauga I guess lol) but their Nihari was really good and the naan were fresh and hot.

Every time we are in Chicago to DJ an Indian Wedding or Fusion Wedding, we have to make a trip to Devon for some Desi food.

We got there around 1pm and the place we wanted to go to was closed. Parking was a bit tough so we decided to stay in the area and eat somewhere else.

We heard great things about Ali Nihari but hadn't had a chance to try it. This first thing we did ic called to make sure they were open. We were happy they were.

Pro-tip - always call ahead to make sure a place is open on Devon. Don't trust what it says online about their times. Chances are they have never been changed online since the place opened up.

Compared to the other places on Devon (take that with a grain of salt), Ali Nihari was clean and had decent service.

We ordered the regular Nihari and Seekh Fry. Our food came out fast and hot. It tasted so good. I am usually not a fan of Nihari because its usually too oily and not enough beef or too much fatty beef. This had oil but it wasn't too bad. It had lots of meat and no fat. This was a big winner. The Seekh fry was also good. And its not available at most desi restaurants so I was pleasantly surprised to have it here.

Good food. Quite noisy but and congested though.

In the last 25 years or so I have not eaten so delicious and authentic Pakistani Food in any part of the world. Except Pakistan itself.

London and England in general has second best out side Pakistan. But Ali Nihari is superb - just the taste that exists in Pk.

Ali bhai is a super person to meet - met him twice. I have eaten all over Toronto, CA but still looking for a taste like here.

Nihari, Karahi, Seekh Fry Qeema, Chana Gosht - topped up with Paratha - the BEST.

We were visiting Chicago from Toronto and wanted to compare Sabri Nihari Vs Ali Nihari . So we had Sabri Nihari last night in dinner which was ok and we gave them three stars in rating . Today at lunch we tried Ali Nihari and no doubt it was much better then Sabri Nihari and we are giving them five stars rating . We had also tried karhai at Sli Nihari and that was also outstanding. So the final verdict of our party is “ Ali Nihari “ is better than Sabri Nihari .

Went there three times and their Nihari is unmatchable in the entire Chicagoland. Can vouch for the authentic taste as a Karachiite who has tried Sabri , Javed nihari in Karachi. Go for Nalli Nihari as the portion is pretty generous. They also have a very decent kheer too. Customer service takes the lead!

Our order was grill platter. After ordering, in just 6 minutes they got our order on table. Grill items to freshly grill usually takes 20-30 minutes. Instead Grill items they just warmed it on frying pan or the grill for one minute . Just to make it warm. The items were cooked hours before. If u like fresh food dont go there. Will never go back.

I’m visiting from Baltimore Maryland and came to the Devon street for nihari and was going to go to the big name restaurants that we have heard for ages but a friend of mine from Chicago advised to try this restaurant…. Initially reluctant, but I took his advice and came here and……Oh boy..!…Had one of the best Niharies I have had in a long time…..I also tried the Bihari kabobs and chicken biryani which were excellent….will definitely make an effort to come back when in Chicago next time…..!
