If you've had real/ decent nihari, this place won't appeal to you; the meat is tender, but the Nihari spices is missing/diluted and the gravy is almost artificially thickened (probably with copious amounts of flour), all swimming in an ocean of oil. But if you can't have nihari at home, then this place will fulfill your nihari craving I guess. It's just not particularly good or authentic, so manage expectations accordingly. Service is meh. The karahi gosht was more bones than meat.

4 years an US...After having Nihari from various places...This is the 1st time I had NIHARI...The taste was/is unbeatable...I'm definitely coming back...Only advice if they can add Sheermal to their menu, will make it on the top...No. 1 for me by far...

They forget items in the order and then don't answer their phones when you try to call them. Would not order from again, be wary.

We got Ali’s nihari to go and it hit the spot. Great price and super quick service. One serving good for about 3-4 people. Only wish we were given fried onion for sides instead of raw onions

This is a nice establishment that serves some good indo/pak food. The staff is nice and comes to the table often. The portions are decent. The dishes are brought out "family" style. This makes it very opportune for a decent sized gathering to try different dishes. Share the dish, share the love.Parking: Chicago street parking, usually very busy.

I came to Ali's Nihari on a cold winter day with some friends in search of something to warm me up from the inside and it did not disappoint. One of my friends is Pakistani and was able to recommend various dishes for our group to try. For the appetizer, we ordered the beef samosas. While the outside was nice crispy, I did think the meat inside was a bit dry and crumbly, not my favorite texture. Next came the Ali's Nihari which was just perfect. The sauce has a very rich, comforting flavor full of spice and the beef is extremely tender. I especially enjoyed dipping some paratha and naan in the sauce. The chicken biryani is a gigantic portion, which I can only imagine being shared. The rice was fragrant and chicken was well-seasoned. Finally, we also got a chana masala, mostly for health. It was lighter in flavor compared to the other dishes but still solid. Service throughout the meal was average and I thought the prices were quite reasonable, especially since the portion sizes were large. Next time, I'll come back just for the Ali's Nihari. Food: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Price: 4.25/5 Ambiance: 4.25/5 Overall: 4/5

Food is good, more taste than some others on the same street.Service is ok. We didn't know who was our server as after initial order we didn't see him. Unfortunately desi restaurants just don't get the service thing proper. They write Halal and think their duty is done. Now people will come automatically!!Parking: Parking is an issue on Devon!!

When they started their business they used to serve good quality of biriyani but today I simply shocked to taste their goat biriyani. In a single packet I found 9 chillies. Hardly found goat pieces. Biriyani had no smell . Taste was awful.
