I want to be fair with this review because after reading the reviews below, it sounds like some of these people haven’t left the neighborhood hood and don’t actually have a great pallet for taste.
Especially the person who claims to have been coming here for 30 years.

The staff is very friendly, the lady up front at the register is very sweet and I truly appreciate the hospitality. Now let’s get to my order.

My absolute favorite taco spot in Chicago. Been coming here for 20 years!
The staff is excellent, tried and true and Family owned. Carne Asada tacos are well done, veggies are fresh and fries are golden crispy. Best salsa picante roja in the city, possibly the world. Perfect for Depaul students like myself and open late for the night owls. Allendes will always hold a special place in my heart.
I’ve been coming to this place for 30 years, since I was a teenager, and in a world of ever-changing food trends, it’s the standard by which I judge every taco. They haven’t reinvented the wheel. They don’t need to. They’ve been perfecting it since day one.
