I live in Wicker Park, and compared to other bakeries, I know that Alliance is much more expensive and thus saved for times when I want to treat myself. Unfortunately this evening when I wanted to do exactly that, I walked up to the store to find the door locked and the employee sitting behind the counter. The sign says it closes at 9, and I’m now sitting back home before 8, no overpriced pastry in hand. Perhaps it’s for the best!

I would give 10000 stars for the execution of the cake and the Mona sculpture. Literally the same as the puppet. Incredible craftsmanship!!!

The taste: incredible. Moist, soft, good flavor, and the fondant wasn't too crazy on the taste.

The cake didn't arrive at Division location for pick up as requested and confirmed during placing the order, BUT the staff was extremely nice and kind about it.

Gentrified cookies and donuts. They didn’t honor their 50% signage, even after explaining what was on sale.

They were pre-occupied with closing the bakery. $4 donuts is never acceptable, especially for the size of them.

I will not return!

I absolutely love this place!

Such a cute bakery that has been around for quite a while - hard to imagine the changes this places has seen happen in WP!

Cookies are delicious, cake pops, breakfast croissant sandwiches.

I’ve been bringing both of my daughters here since they were babies. Super kid friendly.

Highly recommend!

Parking: Division street gets busy, so sometimes it may be a bit of a challenge to find paid street parking. Usually not too bad.

Kid-friendliness: Sitting outside with the kids is super easy.

Macarons are filled with sweet, thick frosting, and tastes very unauthentic and sugary. Pistachio, coffee and hazelnut flavors where passable, but the fruit/rose flavors where horrible (raspberry, strawberry, guava, vanilla) wouldn’t recommend but if you’re in a pinch it works I guess

Love Alliance Bakery! The Macadamia Bar is sooo good, my favorite dessert! But pretty much all their pastries are delicious

Had my first negative experience with Alliance Bakery. They got the phrase on my custom order incorrect. In addition, I only ordered 12 cookies and one of the cookies was obviously broken in half and repaired with frosting.

Outside of the cake is beautiful, however the cake itself is extremely dry. Tastes like the cake was made two weeks ago. Very disappointed

This is a food-tastic place for a yummy, sweet, delicious cupcake and assorted desserts.

They have delish red velvet cupcakes as well as Oreo flavored. The cookies come in a variety of designs and flavors.

Next try- custom cakes they make for birthdays and all occasions.

Alliance Bakery is the best! We got our wedding, rehearsal dinner, and bridal shower cakes from them, and we received so many compliments on the taste! They also looked so great. The planning process was smooth as well, and I think their prices were pretty affordable compared to other bakeries in Chicago. We're looking forward to our next occasion to order dessert from them!

Great service. Had Winnie the pooh themed baby shower and live out of town, Peter was wonderful helping me with the ordering process. I ordered cakes, cupcakes and cake pops, they all tasted great. Everything was delivered on time and looked wonderful. I would highly recommend using them for any of your events.

We did our wedding cake through Alliance Bakery and cannot recommend them enough! We appreciated the mix-and-match aspect of their tasting kit and the fact that tasting kits could be ordered to-go when we were in the process of deciding on our wedding cake bakery. After trying several local bakeries, Alliance was the clear winner in terms of taste and customizability. Working with Alliance to plan our wedding cake was a breeze. They were incredibly responsive and perfectly created the inspiration picture we sent them for our cake. I had to take a moment during our reception to truly admire and marvel at the cake before we cut it because it was absolutely perfect! And of course, it was delicious.
