Beef was always great back then but now this place gives a massive amount of beef in the regular and the big beef and it tastes even better, barely finished the big beef and fries. Great fries great flavor beef and beef gravy also known as consumé. My top 3 beef’s is right here and if your reading this and your new trust me this is what beef is supposed to taste like not portillos which is not bad but not even comparable. I like mine super extra dipped with sweet peppers but hot pepper on the side. Perfect!!!

I don't understand why anyone would serve the food I received. The Italian sausages were horrifyingly burned beyond anything anyone should consider normal.
It doesn't matter if you have proof that your food looked like charcoal; they will not want to refund or even show you basic respect.
Someone in there is torching food and serving it anyway, which is bad, but the bigger problem is management/owner doesn't want to correct a situation clearly created by them.

I placed an order today through Uber Eats. It’s wild that they sent this food out (look at the pic). The polish was burnt, got like 2 pieces of onion and the fries were hard. I tried to call 3 times and couldn’t even leave a message bc the mailbox was full. Needless to say it was a waste of money.

I used to dine here monthly for many years. I moved away 3 years ago. I just returned and dined here around Xmas. Back then, it was great high-quality beef, trimmed perfectly and the best local bread and fries. Today the bread and fries are stll great, but the beef was not - too much fat and silver skin. That is unacceptable at these high prices. Also, multiple soda flavors were out in the self-serve machine and all the tables were dirty. The place was empty so why not clean? The self-service ordering kiosk is a joke.

I did not even needed to think what to order, staff already knew! Dipped Italian Beef! I was told that eating it will make you start speaking Italian :) Beef was tender and delicate, jus was aromatic, perfectly seasoned. Beside the food, atmosphere and staff are top notch! Al's No.1 Italian Beef is a must when visiting Chicago and wanting to try Windy City staple sandwich!
