Best Italian beef I've ever had, and it's not even close. I don't know how Portillos is as big as they were when Al's exists in the same universe. The beef was packed with flavor. I got my sandwich dipped. It was messy but totally worth it to have the extra juices. Prices were reasonable for the quality and the portions. Customer service was great. The wait time from placing the order to getting the food in my hand was 5 minutes or so. I also got the chili cheese fries which were great and a chocolate chip cookie which was good too. If you're in Chicago and craving Italian beef, you cannot go wrong by going to Al's.

In my personal opinion, they have THE perfect regular cheeseburger— it’s just simple and perfect. It’s not a wet/really greasy burger like how some burgers can be, it’s just so perfect and the flavor smacks left and right. Been going here 6x in almost 2 weeks….. it also doesn’t help that the staff here is always soooo nice ?
