A bit slow, but the incredible Italian chopped beef sandwich was worth the wait. It was game day for the Cubs, so the wait was understandable. I liked both the sweet and spicy peppers in it to cut through the beef. I didn’t get it dipped this time, but have had it before and personally prefer it dipped, but my gf prefers otherwise cos it gets messy.

I think Al's beef is the gold standard, but folks have their favorite beef joints. This location is always reliable.

It is one of the best places in Chicago to get an Italian beef sandwich and a Chicago hot dog. The service was very quick and the staff was very nice and friendly. It's a small place, so seating is limited, but there was a counter area and a small patio area to sit as well. I personally think the small restaurants are the best places to go, they always have the best food. I will be back next time I am in town.

Not all what it's cracked up to be, not much meat & dry bread. Maybe it's a tourist trap? Al's beef you have got to step your game up.

Shorted me one hot dog. Extremely slow service even though only one group in front of me. Got my food and went home- realized they only gave me 2/3 of the hot dogs. So disappointing. Good food, but service was lacking extremely. Caused me to pay more money.

Went with a few friends, it's a little pricy (don't remember the exact price) but so worth it!
I got this regular jumbo (wet) with sweet peppers, the seating is pretty packed usually but when you find a spot its a vibe for a quick snack and less so on a date or group hang!

Tried the italian beef sandwich dipped and the depression dog. Both were excellent and it was a great way to eat before a game at Wrigley Field. The french fries were good as well. You’ll leave full.

Al’s #1 Italian Beef in Wrigleyville is a must-visit for any Chicagoan. I grabbed a Big Beef Combo with sausage, fries, and a cold soda for about $16. The beef is perfectly seasoned and tender, the sausage adds a nice kick, and the fries are crispy and satisfying. The staff is friendly, and the spot has that classic Chicago charm. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Al’s delivers a true taste of the city.
