I’ve been to this place twice. The first time I went I felt like the food was good, but the place was extremely loud. The ambience really could use some sound absorption because a lot of people like to go and it’s like a screaming Match to have a conversation… Add kids and good luck. Otherwise, I really liked the place, I liked the atmosphere and life was good.
The second time around was about as disappointing as it could be. First off I wanna start with the compliment. The brussel sprout ensalada was absolutely fantastic. I thought that my girl really ordered right. The Brussel sprouts were warm and went well with the dressing. I loved it and wished that I had ordered it.
Now we go to my order where I got three tacos: chicken, fish and pork. The pork was so dry that I literally could take a shred of it and hit the plate and it clinked. Something that something was wrong, one of the owners asked me if everything was OK. I told him I need to send this back and he was very gracious about it to be fair. He came back with the brisket taco on my request and it was so greasy that if I turned it even 15°, grease came pouring on my plate. Besides that, it wasn’t even seasoned well. Then there was my fish taco which, I kid you not was a fish stick on a tortilla! No! I have never had a fish taco in my life like that. The whole meal was a bust.
Now, to be fair, the waiter warned me that the brisket was a little greasy, and the pork was a little dry… But I had no idea the understatement that he was making. Also, I got one refill during the hour and a half. I was there and my girl loves to drink Diet Coke. I had to empty half of my Diet Coke twice just to keep her filled while the waiter was walking around and as we were walking out the door, I saw him pick up his phone and start to have a conversation with another 35 people still in the restaurant and him being the only waiter.
The kindness of the owner and the Warning of the waiter and my previous experience as well as the brussels sprout salad is the reason why they got three stars. But if it was based on my dish alone, and it was my first experience? Absolutely not. That’d be one star.
And the best part is… Three tacos, one brussels sprout salad and two Diet Coke’s sent me back $54. Unbelievable. I might come back for that salad, but with the other food offerings in the area, you’re better off going to Don Juan’s up the road.
Stoped in for lunch and it was excellent. Started with guac and chips then had the crispy chicken torta. The chicken thigh was juicy and the breading was really crispy. Excellent flavors. Buddy had the burrito. Also tried the fish taco and the beer batter was perfect. Great flavors all around
The Nachos were plentiful and delicious. The three of us enjoyed the Brisket Nachos and there were still some.leftover to take home. My steak burrito was perfect.
Save your money & your time. I went on 7/8/25 to celebrate a birthday because the birthday girl wanted Mexican. Bad idea to come to Americanos. Everything was awful except the one shot of tequila. 1.) nachos - no meat because my friend didn’t want meat, there was one small scoop of canned refried beans in the middle of the chips no cheese at all there was no cheese on the nachos at all basically it was chips and their cabbage slaw made to look like cheese. It was disgusting.
Then I had tostadas again , disgusting everything served was ice cold the nachos the tostadas everything nothing was hot.
The birthday girl ordered fajitas with chicken and that was disgusting as well
I mentioned to the server that my tostadas were disgusting offered if I wanted something else no, I don’t want anything else. I told you the nachos were disgusting as well. Everything was disgusting. Save your time and save your money. Do not eat here. It’s complete waste of time the bill was roughly $90 and a complete waste. Go to Taco Bell, it’s better than Americanos.
I must start by saying that Americanos has been nothing less than amazing for our community, Edison Park. From day one there operation has been run with a smile. Every single person involved with this operation has gone above and beyond for our neighborhood. We are proud to have you and I’m confident when I say that the community agrees.
With that said……
The food FU@KIN CRUSHES IT. I’m a real lifelong resident of Chicago. I resided at Fullerton and Pulaski most my life and in recent years live in Edison Park. I’m legit and I know Mexican food and I know what excellent food should taste like. I’m NOT the wannabe that lives in Buffalo Grove all their lives and pretends to be from Chicago.
This place will not disappoint. Not only do they serve quality food (huge portions on the meals) they will go above and beyond for whatever need(s) you have.
Johnny the manager and Doo my fellow Italian (sorry Doo I don’t know how to spell your name) are class acts. Johnny went above and beyond for a particular request I had to make things perfect for date night. Who does this kinda stuff these days???? Johnny does!!!! If you’re in the area or just going for a walk on a beautiful Chicago night and you just happen to walk past Americanos… You should stop for a pork belly taco or the best Mexican style shrimp I’ve ever had and see for yourself all the excellent food being prepared there. I’ll go as far as saying it might be the best you’ve had.
Love you guys!

If you’re ever in Edison Park and craving something bold, fresh, and full of flavor, you have to check out Americanos. This spot is known for their Mexican-American street food with a modern twist and they definitely deliver.
I started with their guacamole, and you can immediately tell it’s homemade because it’s creamy, zesty, and super fresh. Then I tried the flautas stuffed with chicken Tinga and the seasoning was on point.
But the real surprise? A fried chicken torta. I don’t see this often, and it was so good —crispy, juicy, and loaded with flavor. I also went for three different kinds of tacos, and honestly, each one held its own. Flavor-packed, well-balanced, and just the right amount of kick.
And if you’re in the mood for a drink? This month they’re featuring a blueberry lemon margarita—it’s refreshing, a little tart, and the perfect pairing for all that spice.
Americanos is definitely a solid go-to when you want street food done right 🙌🏽
The food, drinks and service are outstanding. Such a fun place to stop in for a taco and watch a game. Will be coming back!
New must try restaurant in Edison Park. Family owned & operated. This is their second location, original location is in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. Everything we ordered was delicious from the tacos to the empanadas and the taco salad. Great sized portions and fresh tasting food. Stop by and give it a try you won’t be disappointed. Well done Americanos.
Parking: Free Parking lot for Americano customers located on the Eastside of the building.

Had a wonderful time here. The salsas and drink mixers are made in house and are delicious. My son loved the chicken tacos. We had the enchiladas and empanadas, highly recommend both.

We need a restaurant like Americanos in Edison Park .
A Nice variety of Mexican food , but with a twist . The flautas were delish and the chicken torta was very flavorful and huge . The bbq sauce was so tasty and complimented the chicken so well .
Many different tacos to try : steak, brisket , veggie and all had good/ unique flavors.
The margaritas were flavorful and you can tell that they are made with fresh ingredients which I loved.
