The food is unique, tasty, and filling. $8 gets you 1 arancini and a side, and is enough for the average person. I have a bigger appetite, so I tried 2 kinds: the jerkcino and peanutcino. Both were good and more than enough food. I'll be back to try the other

I've eaten here a few times and the food never disappoints. You can tell the owner (who is also the chef) is serious about his craft. If you want quality food, for a great price, this is the place. If you're lucky the owner will come out and talk to you.

This is A CHICAGO GEM. Please stop by if you're in the area! - Awesome owner who is a trombone player and great conversation -DELICIOUS unique food for reasonable prices -Great fusion of foods from different nationalities and does justice to all of them, even though the name is Italian Arancini was great especially the one with coconut rice. Only point of feedback was it would be nice if there was a vegetarian option for the arancini or main entree.

A one of a kind spot with a wonderful owner who you can tell just from talking to him is passionate about the food! Don't let the Italian name fool you, they have food inspired by a broad range of nationalities, Ethiopian, Jamaican, Mexican, Thai, you name it. You can tell both from the taste and our conversation with the owner that he really did his research and respects the different cultures where the food comes from unlike some places that do fusion as a gimmick. He even gave us some free lemonade and biscotti which were both surprise hits as well. It's a smaller spot that's easy to miss but definitely would recommend you don't skip out because the food and service is worth it!

This was one of the most flavorful dinner I've had in a while! Lots of thought put into the menu paying homage to other cuisines while sticking to the italian roots and GREAT value for price. Alfie the owner and chef was a joy to chat with, what a great guy!

Incredible unique delicious food. No fancy gimmicks, just wholesome, made-to-order goodness. Every bite was a taste of perfection! The staff? Top-notch hospitality—friendly and warm. We practically had a menu dilemma for a solid 10 minutes; everything sounded that tempting! Ended up trusting the staff's picks, and boy, were we glad we did. Will definitely be back

We stopped in about 30 mins before close looking for an extra side for our Valentines dinner. The owner was extremely welcoming and sent us home with a delicious Italian dish. Prices are fair, they have something for everyone and the owner is delightful, definitely recommend this restaurant!!

I honestly won't think that you could devote an entire restaurant menu, or at least the majority of a restaurant menu, to arancini. However, Amici has totally proven me wrong. While I was there I tried four different kinds of Arancini. I tried a traditional Italian style, an Indian inspired one two inspired by Mexican food. I loved them all. They were fresh and hot out of the kitchen. I was told my owner/chef that all aspects of the dishes are made from scratch and in-house. Everything from the arancini to the salad dressing to seasoning on the French fries are made from scratch. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all so good, but if I had to pick I would pick either be the traditional Italian one or the Indian inspired one. I also tried some of their plates. I tied the jerk plate, which you can also get in arancini form. The chicken was juicy and homemade sauce was delicious. I also had the jambalaya. It was season well and not overly spicy. If you like melt your face off spicy this is not for you. As a note, you cannot get a jambalaya arancini. The staff were very nice and the chef owner was super passionate. The restaurant is no frills and simple, but doesn't let that fool you, the food is excellent. Last, the dishes are great values. At the time this review is being written, all of the dishes on the menu are less than $12.00. In sum, this is a perfect spot to grab some delicious food that is made quickly. It's a must try in Lakeview.
