The lounge is big plenty of room, they offer self service for drinks and snacks. There’s a place to put your luggage while you hang out or talk a walk outside of Union Station

This is a beautiful and comfortable Amtrak lounge for first class passengers. Clean and modern. It has plenty of seating on two floors. Less snack choices and more on munchy type snacks compared to Penn station but okay. It does have an adult beverage bar with attendant which does require drink payment. Coffee and tea no charge. This lounge has clean bathrooms and does have both men and women showers with towels and body cleaning amenties which is nice if travelling from coast to coast.

The staff I interacted with seemed to truly hate life itself.

Really enjoyed the Metropolitan lounge in Chicago Union Station on our layover there. Easy to find and check in was easy. Snacks, fruit and beverages were supplied and there was lots of comfortable seating available. You can also rent lockers, buy an adult beverage from the bar and even take a shower to refresh yourself if needed.

It’s true what they say, Amtrak has a ton of problems but the Metropolitan Lounge is not one of them. Superb customer service, excellent amenities, worry-free guidance, and a calm, refined, modern waiting space. Almost alone worth the upgrade to first class.

Very nice seating and plenty of it. The provided snacks and drinks were great. Good place to rest while waiting for the train.

Best place at Union Station to relax, grab a free snack or sidle up to the bar.

Upon arrival to the lounge 5 hours before my next trip, I visited the lounge to purchase a day pass. The employee there was short, rude, and impatient. Stated check in was at 6pm (3 hours before train arrival) It was my first time here, so I asked is the lounge full? Just wanted to understand the requirement of waiting until 3 hours before check in, if im purchasing a day pass. His only respouse was check in time is at 6pm with no other explanation. I ended up looking it up online to understand they had just change this, however he could've done a better job explaining this. All other staff was friendly & supportive. The lounge was very clean, good snacks, the soft drink machine only had diet options, no other options.

You do have to pay $10 per bag if you would like to store anything. $35 for the 3 hour pass (not day pass - they should rephrase the title)

Very comfortable. They recently got a Coca Cola freestyle machine. Unfortunately, the clientele in the Metropolitan lounge does not seem to know how to operate the Coca Cola freestyle machine. My recommendations would be to put up some instructions about how to operate the Coca Cola freestyle machine with large font for the elderly patrons.
