We had such a good time. First, go for the cinnamon rolls and everything else in your life will be fine! Please be aware the cinnamon rolls come as a side so no need to order additional unless you need a sugar rush! I also had the eggs and salmon and it was solid. The wait wasn't long for us on a Saturday around 10am. This is a must stop for the cinnamon rolls.

As a first timer at Ann Sathers, my daughter and I were excited to try the cinnamon rolls because we kept hearing they were the best in the city. We each ordered our own breakfast dish and got the rolls as a side. Side bar; this review is NOT about the rolls. We were grabbing food to go and the chef advised us to wait an additional 5 minutes for fresh rolls from the oven, but I had to run. So what we ate is not the true full Ann Sather cinnamon roll experience. Ok, on to the breakfast dishes. Honestly we were both just totally underwhelmed by the lack of flavor in both of our dishes. I ordered a burrito and my daughter had steak. Anyway, we want to give it another try. Next time we will sit and eat and wait for fresh rolls. Service was amazing, and the atmosphere is chill. Any recommendations on tasty flavorful main dishes?? Thnx

Went here for a business meeting a couple of weeks ago. I got the yogurt, oats, and fruit bowl and my colleague got the cinnamon roll. The staff was amazingly welcoming. We refilled our coffees a few times and spent about 2 hours here. Our server was so friendly and kind. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a good meal and really wonderful service. Perfect mix of helpful without being pressuring.

Okay food, decent service. But I really hate to talk about the next part. I saw a roach that was crawling around the floor that made an appearance multiple times before someone I was dining with saw it and crushed it. My appetite was unfortunately gone at this point. I would like to chalk it up to a lone bug, but with cockroaches, there’s rarely just one, and the wooden counter top looks riddled with entry points. I couldn’t eat anymore that day, and after seeing another recent review where someone found a dead roach on their plate, I will unfortunately not be able to bring myself here again or recommend it. Saw the server sneakily try to slide it under his shoe later and act like nothing happened. I don’t know how someone can work food service and not take issue with roaches in their restaurant and try to rectify that situation asap.

Delicious food, generous portions. The waitress our group had both times we visited the Rogers Park location has been excellent.

Bought a half dozen of cinnamon buns and wasted my money. I was looking for fresh baked , instead they were hard and old. I warmed them up but they weren't any better. I guess you get fresh ones if you dine in.

The eggs benedict was cooked to perfection! As a group of 4, the seating was cozy amidst the homestyle atmosphere. I chose the cinnamon rolls and fruit as my sides, all orders came in HEALTHY portions! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, this was a great brunch stop for a Tuesday afternoon.

For the past three months, we have been in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago in the morning for breakfast about every other week. Ann Sather on Granville was a quick and convenienti choice. Other than the hot, gooey cinnamon rolls, the food is typical diner fare. Our order this morning was served with a dead roach on one of the plates. It was noticed within seconds of getting the food. I told a server, who told the manager, who sent our original server out to say “no charge,” and nothing more. We immediately left. We will never go back.

By far my favorite breakfast spot in Chicago. Be sure to order their cinnamon rolls! (free if you get an egg based entree)

2024 update: As there was just the two of us, we ordered Thanksgiving meals from Ann Sather. All the items were nicely prepared, from the soup to the dressing. The sides of bread were a nice touch. I had ordered cinnamon rolls, and also got four in the sides, in addition to the pumpkin bread and white loaf. Had cinnamon rolls for breakfast today. The pie slices were also nice.

Staff is fun and kept the coffee coming. The sweet rolls are amazing. Can get breakfast all day. Traditional lunch fare.
