This neighborhood gem is worth the wait in line and the extra step you may need to take to ensure you have cash to pay the bill! I really appreciate the quality of ice cream / Italian ice, and accompaniments. The other ice cream places in the area do not compare. If you have ever worked in a food retailer, you know how much work goes into getting everything ready and available. You try to take care of the customers quickly, so you can work on the behind-the-scenes tasks before the next rush. The owner is the best because she is efficient and knowledgeable about the products. My husband has one request, which is to have Sea Turtle ice cream on the menu every year. Oh, our dog Dunston leads us here all summer long for a frozen Pup Cup.

What a darling Italian ice shop!! The counter feels so classic and long-standing, the Italians!! They're here!!! The Italian fro yo is a combo of Italian ice and frozen yogurt and let me tell you it is godly, the perfect combination of tangy and creamy. Sensory high, peaceful summer night, long walks down the street. I'll dream of it

Long line but so yummy. A bit overwhelming choosing all the flavors but you can't really go wrong with any of them ‍ also best dessert/compliment after Cafe Babareebas happy hour

Annettes made me an Italian Ice fan!! Don’t skip on the Italian Fro Yo. It is the perfect combination of icy & creamy with fresh summer flavors. I go every Sunday night as the perfect treat to start my week!

Came here cuz I rly wanted shaved ice and this was not shaved ice but turns out Italian ice is even better. Long line so u have plenty of time to pick flavors(I was having a hard time). I got a small w peach and passion fruit. Peach has peach in it!!! It was rly pleasant I was expecting overwhelming flavor but it was so nice and smooth wow

really good flavors. lots of variety and a big selection to choose from. cash only but the prices are nice, not a big fan of the styrofoam cups tho.

Closed at 10:30 and was refused service at 10:29. If it’s a restaurant I understand, but how hard is it to get one scooper out?

After eating dinner around the loop, my bf wanted a refreshing dessert to end the night. He found this place which was near our Airbnb so we decided to go here. Now, I usually don't like Italian ice because my conception is based on those frozen pre-packaged Italian ice, but I really need to change that mindset, otherwise, I wouldn't have tried Annette's.We came here on a Saturday night, and it was poppin'. The line was relatively long, but it was maybe a 10 minute wait for us. We were trying to figure out what flavors to sample and what to order. We decided on a medium scoop with lychee, mango, and watermelon. The Italian ice was very soft and smooth. The lychee was our favorite; we just love lychee :) I also liked the mango, but it just wasn't as light and refreshing as the lychee. My bf liked the watermelon which seems to be a popular flavor here. I think I just don't really like watermelon aside from its natural state, but I bit into a white watermelon seed when eating it so you know they use the real stuff. We loved this place so much that we decided to go for round 2 the next night! The place still had a small crowd, but it wasn't as long of a wait. We went for a large this time and got two scoops of lychee, passionfruit, and blackberry lime. I liked the passionfruit. It had the tropical sweetness and sourness which was nice. The blackberry lime was interesting, but it wasn't really in my flavor profile. The lychee was still by far the best flavor for both of us. I also liked how the worker split the lychee scoops so one was at the bottom and the second was at the top. This was a great find for dessert, and if you're in the area, I definitely recommend you try the Italian ice here. They only take cash so make sure you bring some, otherwise, there's an ATM right outside the shop.

Great dessert spot! Nice people. I absolutely love Italian Ice and this is their specialty! They have a variety of flavors unique and familiar alike. I always get their blood orange but would love to give that mojito one a shot next time. The Italian ice is never too sweet. It's also not overly frozen like rocks. It's a refreshing treat.

You literally cannot go wrong at Annette's. Everything is incredible, but the frozen Blueberry Lemon Lemonade is to die for.

Annette's is the best ice cream in Chicago. I've been coming there for years & it never disappoints. The line is always around the block but the wait is worth it. Just don't forget cash!

Puppy Chow is the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Annette’s is the best ice cream here in Chicago (of the 30ish places I’ve tried in the north and west neighborhoods). Such a great spot!
