Such a delightful restaurant. Truly exceptional menu and service. Looking forward to returning.
The best experience we've had in Chicago this trip—great food, great service, surprisingly affordable. The noise level is significant, but it's truly just conversation—music is kept at a VERY low level—so it's not the case that people are shouting over music to be heard. There is also a garden patio area where the noise level may be better. HIGHLY recommended.
We always have a great experience at Anteprima and this time was no exception. We ate on the patio deck, which was quite pleasant while sheltered from the sun and wind. Food and wine options are excellent; they usually include some seasonal specials. The good variety of wines by the quartino is an added value.
Have been here many times, always a great experience- great food, wine and service. It can get a little loud inside though.
Great dinner tonight at Anteprima - one of our very favorites in Chicago. Unfortunately the owner trashed the vibe at the end of the night. We were seated for 20 minutes before a waiter even showed up - but we were not concerned, as we came to spend the evening together at one of our favorite spots. As we were eating dessert and drinking espresso after the main course, the owner scolded us and told us that other diners had shown up and it was time for us to leave. We were not lingering - in fact, we were still eating dessert and drinking coffee when scolded and told to leave. As a frequent diner I am sensitive to the need to turn tables over, but we were not lingering and still eating. I had just written a 30% tip on a $300 bill as an expression of thanks for a wonderful meal. After being treated rudely by the owner at the conclusion of the meal, it will be some time before we return. Unfortunate ending to a wonderful meal.

Fabulouso! Anteprima outshines several big name, Italian restaurants in Chicago.. We've lived in multiple states and have traveled Italy. Anteprima really is a gem. The wait staff is warm and professional. Wine selection is diverse and reasonably priced. Our Salice Salentino Riserva from Puglia was fantastic. There were so many enticing items on the menu that we decided to share 4 starters, a salad, and 2 small portion pastas. Stuffed figs, mushrooms, and radish salad were standouts, but all were delicious. We finished with biscotti and tiramisu. Although noisy, we could carry on a conversation. The place was full, bathrooms clean. Table spacing adequate. Rear patio looked lovely and is covered. It's Andersonville, so street parking required we walk several blocks. We'll be back!!
Anteprima transports me to Italy every time. The specials are always interesting and the menu choices are rarely duplicated at other Italian restaurants. The orecchiette brings visions of women in Bari selling their homemade pasta along the streets.

I can't say enough good things about this Andersonville gem. I have dined at this restaurant for over 12 years and always enjoy my time there. Last night I took my kids, a friend from DC, and my cousin and her husband from CA that were visiting there. We had such a great family dinner. We had several of my favorite appetizers for the table: octopus, burrata, the bread basket. I ordered the salmon and it was done perfectly. For dessert we had the peach cake, lemon panna cotta, and tiramisu. We ordered a bottle of their Nebbiolo, and had homemade cherry-cello. The service by Nathan was awesome. What an enjoyable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a great Italian/Sicilian dinner and wonderful ambience.
It was delicious and great service! We love the half servings of pasta as a shareable appetizer

Restaurantji Recommends
i took my girlfriend out for a surprise dinner and it was amazing, i'm super picky about atmospheres and comfort and this place checked those boxes. it was quiet food was wonderful and well worth the money, sucks going somewhere and spending money on something mediocre which happens a lot due to over population of restaurants. i highly reccomend this place to anyone! thanks!
Highly recommend for an all around great dining experience. The outdoor patio is well appointed and calm. Our waitress was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and respectful of our time. The eggplant caponata was one of the best we've had. Don't miss the focaccia bread! The meatballs were delicious and the Grilled Halibut was also delicious!
The waiter was knowledgable and super inviting, the food was spectacular across the board. Can't wait to come back, a gem in the neighborhood.
Great menu; shared a few appetizers, my main course was delicious & everything was served hot!
The waitress was very nice & always checked on our table if everything was ok.
