This place could be so great but alas it is not. Stopped in on a Monday at 8:30 there were only 4 people at the bar and still took 15 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge me. Custo.ers extremely unfriendly as was the staff. Just a bad place

Buncha weirdos, giving the side eye for no reason.
were not welcoming, had a friend denied service for being foreign. so much for inclusive vibes? They definitely didnt feel safe.
Would highly recommend any bar on Chicago Ave. Shame, we had nothing but good intentions, and wanted to wind down! Not cool. Check yourself!

Honestly, I love it here. I had an issue with some dude being weird and the whole bar took care of me. I feel safe here as a femme presenting person and this place is getting all of my money. It's definitely a regulars bar, but Jeff is cool! And so is Viv! They made me feel very safe and welcome! I'm super thrilled with the Archie's crew!

Should be a cute neighborhood bar, but as a couple other reviews on here have suggested, it’s not that welcoming. It’s a small room frequented by the same 10 regulars who kind of camp out in the bar and give you the side eye. Might be nice if you’re one of those regulars but for anyone else, try another bar.

Great neighborhood bar. No TV though if you want to watch the Cubs or Sox.

Still a touchstone of the neighborhood, along with being a comforting sight for sore eyes thanks to its continued existence throughout the years as a Chicago classic establishment that’s not been bought up and reinvented into some faceless avatar for unbridled greed and gentrification that so sadly rears its ugly face more too often than i’d like to admit in the Windy City.
Drinks are affordable, crowd is down to earth, and overall i cannot recommend my former (back when i lived in chicago) favorite local dive bar. Perfect place to shoot some pool while catching up on old friends.

One of the best bars in the city. A neighborhood gem. Malört, Hamm’s, and dog friendly! Literally don’t need anything else.

Quirky and friendly neighborhood watering hole with pool table and relaxed vibe ala Tumans circa 2002. Nice place for on a budget. No food but can bring or order in. Many handshake specials.

Dog friendly! But feels small with more than 2 dogs in there. U can get some chips/popcorn-type snacks. 4 to 7pm $2 hamms, great deal.

Indoors only - dog friendly tavern that encourages patrons to try the infamous Malort.
Jeopardy was on at 4 pm and everyone participated! Bordering Ukrainian village this gemstone is to be sought after! It is a neighborhood tavern not a fancy place and the bartender is versatile !
