Argot is welcome addition to the Lincoln Commons area in Lincoln Park situated in the courtyard near equinox on Lincoln. Food was good, but they have a very limited menu. I had the steak and others had some seafood noisy.

The interesting part is it being connected Verve wine is that you cannot purchase wine in the wine shop and drink it in the restaurant without occurring in an additional $25 corking fee. Seems very limited since it’s connected and the restaurants wine menu was not as verbose.

This might be my new go-to chill, local date night spot! All the things we loved:
- The atmosphere; the space is really chic and there's something cool about being inside of a wine store, too :)
- I'm French and thought the food was EXCELLENT
- The menu was so vegetable-forward in the best way. We tried so much that was on the menu and left feeling great rather than weighed down
- Favorite bites: The mushroom "escargot" and carrot tartar!
- Even the French onion soup was made with vegetable broth and it was awesomely flavored
- We tried all of the desserts which were also so worth it
- Bottles of wine were really, really well-priced

Can't wait to go back.

Our mothers day weekend was ruined by this service. The waitress with the lemon cat bob haircut was unashamedly bad mouthing diners and laughing maniacally next to our table throughout diner. Presiding to look at us with a stern expression after abruptly ending their maniacal laughter seemed contextually inappropriate for this setting and left us all with an icky feeling Saturday night. They afterwards seemed to intentionally pour very low portions for us of the wine we had ordered. After my mother (with a polite smile) asked if she could pour just a little more before taking our bottle away they gave my mother the meanest eye lock glare. Then dead silence. Made for a very uncomfortable situation. We have been searching for a restaurant like this in our neighborhood for long while and it is unfortunate that this is the behavior we encountered. Unfortunately cannot recommend

This is just a review of the wine list. The pours were very short, and the Cab Franc I ordered was so bretty it was practically undrinkable. Not cool, and won't be back.

Come for the wine, stay for the lovely service and amazing food. Argot should be on all the top Chicago restaurant lists. A must for wine and food lovers alike.

Incredible food, amazing cocktails and wine selection, and great service in an adorable space. We went for brunch and both the Croque Madame and Leek Quiche were heavenly. Now I can't wait to try dinner!

Awesome vegetarian options at a French restaurant—feels super rare! Went for happy hour + dinner as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend (who’s newly vegetarian). Every dish was tasty and felt original.

My favorite was the mushroom “escargot” (much more memorable than regular escargot) and my partner’s favorite was the carrot tartare. The chamomile bourbon soda was also tasty—their happy hour specials were a great value. Already wanna plan my next visit to try more!!

Beautiful space, wonderful service, and delicious food!We saw this place on an Instagram reel and decided to treat ourselves to a nice brunch date. We were not disappointed. The menu had a nice variety and it was hard to just choose a few things! Everything we ordered blew us away. We liked the food so much, we plan on trying the dinner offerings next month.Location-wise, Argot is very accessible and the space is superb, coming off as elegant but not stuffy, like some similar places in the area can.Highly recommended for any foodie or someone looking for a special spot without blowing the bank.

Brunch here was delicious with a calm relaxed atmosphere. The French toast was delicious and the mocktails and cocktails were both reasonably priced and delicious.

Lovely Sunday brunch at Argot with my family and friends. Food was delicious. The staff were welcoming and helped make sure that all in our party, which included some older folks with physical challenges and dietary restrictions, were comfortable. We'll dine there again soon.

The restaurant is beautiful as you walk in. The decor and atmosphere is high scale but not intimidating. The food and drinks were to die for. Great effort was put into the design of all their menus and prepared to perfection. I can’t wait to return and try another of their menus!
