the food and drinks here are excellent, although extremely high priced (we’re talking $30-35 for a cocktail) but the real issue is the clientele (which certainly doesn’t reflect the service here, but noteworthy nonetheless). if you are a frat boy, a finance bro, or a man in his 40s that wears hats backwards, you will love this place. the bathrooms are gender-shared, which usually isn’t an issue if the men using them could successfully aim for the toilet and not the floor. the service was excellent, however. you will have to wait 30-60 mins for a table or a place at the bar if you don’t have a reservation. additionally, people waiting on the list seem to need to wait with the front door open so that cold air is blasting everyone else, so do NOT sit near the door.

A relatively long wait for walk-ins but forgive and forget! The food is worth it. Their chicken pot pie is divine. I never thought I would say that in this lifetime.

Food is very good, but unfortunately the place poorly managed. Every time I go, I am very disappointed in how badly this place has been managed. Their reservation system sucks. They have no intention to improve it either.

Totally lived up to the hype! Perfect spot for a grey day with its cozy atmosphere and even cozier food. Hard to pick a favorite bite because everything was amazing, but the chicken pot pie – one of my all-time favorite foods – might just be the best I’ve ever had.

I’ve been wanting to come to Armitage Alehouse ever since I moved to the area. It’s probably the hardest reservation to get in the city but after reading the fine print I found out you can just show up early and sit at the bar so that’s what I did.

The food was everything. We started with some samosas to get the good times going and they were perfect. They had the right amount of flakiness and pops of flavor. Then, we had to go for the pot pies. They had the chicken and the beef that night so we got both and I loved them. Lastly, we closed out our date night with a date cake (date as in the fruit). It was so good and even though I was so full I wanted to keep eating. I will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes.

The hostesses seem to carry an unwarranted attitude that sours the experience before it even begins. Waiting for a table is already an exercise in patience, but being met with rudeness from the staff makes it worse. A little courtesy and professionalism would go a long way. Customers come for the food, but they also expect respect. Until the team improves their attitude, it’s hard to recommend this place without reservations—pun intended.

I’d make my own sticky date cake.

BOGUS RESERVATION SYSTEM - My husband and I tried to get a reservation 14+ days out multiple days in a row. We logged on everyday at 9AM (when they said reservations were released) and every time they were already full. We reached out to them about the issue we were having and they said they were unable to help us. Food is not worth this level of hassle!! Don’t waste your time.

So many words to chose from. So are: pricey, vibey, cool, beautiful.

All in all. It’s a top-tier experience. It’s worth it. Go. Have an experience. Doesn’t matter if you go for just a drink or a meal. You’re going to have a great time. They really make the customer feel welcomed.

The double wagyu burger was awesome. The Bibb salad too. My date and I had an amazing time.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and dairy free friendly.

First time here with family. The food was good. I got a salad and asked for the king salmon for a side. Instead, i got a mini salmon. The dessert date cake will melt in your mouth like ice cream cone on a hot Chicago day. A must try!
The service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was great. This is a small and busy place, and reservations are suggested.

Way over hyped for the wait times and quality of food. Burger tastes like the same one from Small Cheval but $20 more.
