Upon arrival, Restaurant was empty. I informed the host we were waiting for second couple to join us.
We were seated at a table which had 2 dirty place mats out of the 4. The carpet around the table was littered with table scraps. As I looked to find another table to sit at, I noticed all the carpeting was in similar conditions... I don't believe this carpet has been cleaned in a while. I also think the Host must have mentioned we were waiting for another couple because our waitress disappeared and was nowhere to be found on the floor. So we were Unable to order any appetizers or drinks.
Once we were all together, the waitress came over and we asked for clean place mats, she looked at other tables, but they were dirty as well. She offered to go in the back to clean them, which she did, and came back 10 minutes later.
We placed our order of 4 simple Cheeseburgers. It took OVER a half hour to get the order out to us... mind you, the restaurant was empty... us 4 and 1 other couple, and our order was in first. We were there for 2 hours, of which 20 minutes was waiting for the other couple. 1:40 minutes to have the completed party and order 4 simple burgers...
All in all... it was a good burger... but EVERYTHING else was severely lacking... especially in cleanliness. After leaving, I thought to myself... if the dining area is dirty... I'm afraid to see what the kitchen looks like...?!?
NEVER AGAIN...!!!

Solid spot, especially if you’re staying at the hotel. Maybe a little understaffed, but a good experience.

Just came in for lunch today while staying at the hotel. The atmosphere was great and very comfortable. I ordered the Asado burger and it was delicious. The best part was the sever Becky. She was extremely friendly, fun, and provided amazing service. She welcomed you with a smile, and literally was the best. I would return again for sure!

The food in the executive lounge at this Renaissance hotel was excellent, so we decided to go to this restaurant in this hotel thinking food would be good. BIG MISTAKE. Hardly anyone in the restaurant and took our food forever to come out. Food was HORRIBLE!! I ordered my cheeseburger medium, one part of the burger was well done and other part medium, how the hell do you even do that? My wife's ribs were also horrible. We would have gotten better food at Burger King!!

New Menu, New Chef, New Sourcing. Asado Urban Grill is Getting Great! I had the pleasure of dining at Asado this evening and everything impressed me from start to finish. There are limited off-site restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, and I read several lackluster reviews on a few websites regarding Asado so I was a bit reluctant to check-out this grill inside the Renaissance Suites O’Hare Hotel. I’m so glad I gave it a chance. The staff (Eddie at the entrance) was super helpful and friendly describing the menu and most popular dishes. I ordered the Asado Burger (mixed beef burger with bacon and cheese) and it was cooked to perfection (medium rare, juicy and pink inside), just wonderful. It also had a slight smoky flavor that was delicious. The fresh pickles and marinated onions were upscale side-condiments. Crunchy and tasty. The home made french fries were some of the best I’ve had. Piping hot from the fryer with excellent golden color, crispness on the outside and perfect texture inside. I devoured them. The side salad was a decent mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion and mixed greens. I enjoyed the lightly coated blue cheese dressing. The chef, Jonathon, came out to greet me during my dinner, checking in on the meal. What a delight to chat with him about the quality of the food and the new menu items he’s added. Above and beyond. I absolutely recommend dinner or lunch at Asado during your Renaissance Hotel Stay. Thank you Eddie and Jonathon.

Becky, the waitstaff serving us, was great! Friendly, efficient and attentive.
Food was okay. My pasta was drowned in sauce. Would have been very good with 1/4 as much.
Atmosphere was hotel lobby. Didn’t really expect more.

Staff was amazing, not very busy which we love along with a cozy atmosphere. Food was prepared well, also very delicious.
Vegetarian options: Impossible burgers, vegan options for steak and other options on their menu.
Dietary restrictions: Vegan options were awesome, respect to dairy allergies is a must for myself as well. No hassle in how we wanted our steaks prepared or requesting no dairy.

Wow. I am not a person who sends food back typically — it’s happened maybe three times in my entire fairly long life. I had ordered a salad. When it arrived, it did not come with the specified arugula. Instead it came with baby greens that were spoiling. The type of greens you might have after leaving them in the refrigerator after six days. Icky and slimy greens comprised bout half of the salad bed. 🤢
So I sent it back and requested a turkey club sandwich.
Is it possible to screw up a club sandwich? Why, yes, yes it is.
You do this by putting a crust in the middle.😳 (I’ve learned that people called this the heel or the end, in some regions of the country.) You’re hungry, so you eat it after taking out the heel from the middle. Despite the fact that the bacon is probably undercooked… Despite the fact you really wanted to eat veggies, not carbs and protein.
Your companions are having worse issues. One has ordered a steak sandwich but gotten a steak plate — not the biggest of deals. Another has a chicken sandwich, which is actually RAW (some people call this “undercooked” or “potentially a cause of salmonella”) in the middle.
All this is before we get to the completely indifferent and very slow service. Complain about the service, as one of my companions did, and ask the manager to address it. The employee who has given you the middle finger apparently will say that you gave her the middle finger. Some people really don’t belong in service roles and should seek employment in another sector, IMO. Especially lying, indifferent and incompetent people.
If you want to know what I suggest, I suggest you eat elsewhere. Absolutely anywhere else. I was also suggesting not ordering room service. Because it’s the same freaking kitchen. There are many fine restaurants within a short Lyft drive. Even more if you want to jump on public transit and go to another neighborhood. Chicago has lots of great food.
Incompetence seems to be the hallmark. As I walked down a hallway, two room service employees asked me if I could lend them a pen. They didn’t bring one and they needed it to have the customer sign. You know what? You have one job. That one job is showing up with the food and having people sign for it — so bring all the tools you need, including a pen.
Hello people, what is wrong with you? I’ve worked in food service and I cannot believe how awful the experience was. Honestly, I’ll probably never voluntarily stay at a Renaissance Hotel again as a result. There are so many other options.
And this, my friends, is an object lesson in how to destroy your brand.

I was staying at this hotel before a morning flight and ordered room service b/c I was under the weather. The burger I got ranks among the worst meals I've ever had; it was pretty tasteless, overdone, didn't come with normal condiments (e.g. mustard, mayo, etc.), the fries were cold and solid, like they'd been sitting around for hours. I guess that's what passes for dining in a hotel of this grade here. Really should have gone with my gut instinct and ordered from a local restaurant rather than this place.

We ate dinner here. It's ok. The menu has mostly sandwiches. There are a few salads, they are ok. One of the evening bartenders was what you may expect for a hotel bar. She said they were closed almost 30 minutes before regular hours on a weekend evening while serving others. It was just before 10:30 She was not very nice for a bartender.
The decor is... nice? You can tell the items were luxury looking decor from the 90s. Today every light fixture had a different color light bulb in it, the lighting fixtures appeared yellowed in tar of a smoke lounge. The seating was comfortable fabric endchairs. You could tell they were old though.
Menu. The menu on Google is wrong. This is very common too. Google itself should stop posting menus because it is always wrong for many sit-down restaurants. There is no way I could find online to get the menu. When you go to the hotel website to view the menu it just loops back to the homepage.

Very small selection for a big price!
Buffet at $20 per person only has 3 hot items to choose from. If you would like to supplement the message offering it's extra. For example, an omelette will be an additional $17, etc...
It is not customary to charge extra for an omelette on a breakfast buffet and feels like a money grab.

The food ain’t bad for what it is, a hotel restaurant. But the service is great. Everyone is really friendly and happy to accommodate meal substitutions. I had the market salad with a couple fried eggs, which wasn’t on the menu. Good vibes go a long way.
