Got a last minute seat in their outdoor patio, was a little chilly, but they turned up the hest and we were fine. The server was lovely. The octopus was tender and flavorful, a very nice caesar salad and the truffle risotto was wonderful. Beautiful balance of flavors, not too salty or buttery, and the truffle wasn't overpowering. Great spot in a cool part of Hyde Park. Bravo.

We came to check out the OG location of Ascione Bistro after numerous visits to the one which opened in downtown Skokie. The vibe is impeccable, very intimate and we loved the outdoor seating with the outdoor heaters. Very cozy! The food, drinks, and the service did not disappoint, everything was superb and we even got checked on by the owner, Alex, to make sure everything was to our expectations! Thank you for an amazing family dinner!

I had a mixed experience here but would give the restaurant another chance based on its strengths.
On the positive side, the service was genuinely friendly, and I appreciated the generous, heavy pours from the bar—a great plus for anyone stopping by for a drink.
However, the food was disappointing. I ordered the Thanksgiving Meal special, and unfortunately, none of the dishes came out of the kitchen hot. The butternut squash soup, carrots, and mashed potatoes were particularly underwhelming. The stuffing and turkey were acceptable but didn't make up for the overall lack of quality and temperature. My takeaway is that ordering a holiday special from an Italian spot might have been my mistake.
Finally, the women's restroom was in need of attention, which detracts from the overall dining environment.
Recommendation: If you visit this restaurant, I highly recommend sticking to their standard menu and avoiding the holiday specials. The service and drinks are worth checking out!
Had been meaning to check this place out forever! Sooo incredibly happy I did. Definitely a favorite in Hyde Park. I went for a solo Thanksgiving dinner. I was seated on their enclosed, heated patio. So cozy! They had a $55 set menu of Thanksgiving fare but I ordered off the regular dinner menu. Had the Grilled Octopus (10/10), Filet Carpaccio (9.5/10 so good but I wanted more beef!), and the Tuna Tartare (8/10). For my entree I had to Short Rib (100/10) and paired it with a glass of Clos de Napa! Everything was so delicious and flavorful!!! That Short Rib?! I could eat it EVERYDAY! And all the food came out timely and the entree came out steaming hot and stayed hot/warm throughout! Amazing! Besides the food being absolutely delicious, my favorite part of it all was my server. I believe her name is Milan. She is so sweet,kind and attentive. Honestly, she’s the reason I had such a lovely time. The support staff were also so kinda and enthusiastic. Had a great time here and will absolutely be back again and again!!

Always a treat. We had the always delicious branzino (fish of the day at $42) and an equally nice piece of salmon served with creamy mashed potatoes. And Ascione's tiramisu is among our favorites!

We had our first dinner at Ascione tonight. It was fabulous! And Roberto, our server, was amazing in every way. He was kind, patient ,funny and helped us through the amazing menu. Would definitely return and ask for him!!!
