Avvio is excellent! Great American-Italian Kitchen, their service was great and their interior atmosphere is nice. As well as their food of course. Their staff was very friendly, the menu is very impressive and easy to navigate. We ordered Tiramisu and Cannoli. We had a very awesome dine here and everything was so tasty and big portions. This is definitely the best American-Italian restaurant I have been in Chicago . Their dining area was a bit dark as it was dinner time, but still could see and has a good ambiance. We really had a great time! The tiramisu was delicious, and I was able to taste the coffee. Will definitely recommend this place to all of the people I know. Thank you, Avvio!

Real, authentic Italian cooking. First, a full loaf of warm bread is placed on our table after we order appetizer. Then while we are debating what to try for an entree a pizza bread arrives. The Shrimp de Jong appetizer was excellent, and my husband said it was as good as, or possibly better, than his Italian grandmother's. I got veal Toscanini and my husband splurged with the Denver Sole. We are definitely coming back here and bringing the Italian relatives who I'm sure will be impressed! Service was very attentive, dare I say impeccable?! Ambiance is the only area that I could be improved. Weird entrance where you see into the kitchen at the hostess stand. Well worth the price for the generous portions and extras like the pizza bread.

Over priced and over rated .Taking plates while we’re close to finishing each course . Maybe it’s better on certain nights , but on my experience, it was not worth the trip into the city from the suburbs.Dried , flavorless Pork Chops?35.00?No Thank You

We were patrons of Sabitino's which as everybody knows closed up about four years ago. My understanding is on of the chefs and owner of this restaurant. It has been a long while since we have enjoyed such a leisurely meal. The pacing was perfect. I had the chicken Parmisian and if I closed my eyes I left Elston Avenue and was back on Irving Park Road. The flavors were awesome. The drinks from the bar were also deliciously tasty, I had a black Manhattan highly recommended. ? do make reservations it was fairly busy on this Friday evening. Loved everything about our night out!!

The food was horrible. We ordered 3 different dishes and it was all bad! The only good thing was the water! The service was terrible. My nephew ordered a beer twice, and they never brought it! The restaurant looked like an old dirty restaurant. They need Gordam Ramsey help!!!

Picked up spaghetti with lobster mussels clams shrimp and calamari. Abundance of mussels compared to all else. Not a lot of sauce but I believe something was up with mussels, smelled OK. Got food around 6pm. So should have been great. The next day early afternoon got chills and was naucious. Lost my appatite the next day. Still my stomach is upset. I believe I got food poisoning from the mussels. Bread was fresh . Soup and salad was fine. So many mussels compared to rest of the seafood. 65 dollars and got sick. Don't recommend that dish. Only there once so can't recommend any other dishes.Parking: I parked in the back

Started with baked oysters and the cheesy bread. Had gnocchi, mushroom ravioli, and tricolor pasta with chicken. Water cups were always full and server was helpful with recommendations. Quaint spot felt very Italian.

The bread before the meal was fresh and really delicious. Each menu item comes with soup and salad. The price is good and the quantity is generous. Plus, every single dish is delicious. There is also Nebbiolo wine. This is a place I would like to visit again.

avvio is so good. the ambiance of sabbatinos isn't there (what could match that space) but the food is even better. we've ordered so many dif things from the menu at this point and they were all great.

We love this place. It’s our go to. It’s old school Italian. Food speaks for its self. It’s never a rushed affair. Tonight(3 adults and 1 child all family) was not great like it usually is. We were sat down ordered our food and then we were rushed to leave couldn’t even do dessert after our $500.00 bill..We were told we had to go with no reason given. The only thing I could think of was that they were going to close in like 30 mins maybe new management. Terrible experience for my family. I wouldn’t want anyone to have this experience. I am shocked, but not surprised. Please stay away. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else people .
