When I think about our trip to Chicago, the first thing that comes to mind, is Bang Bang Pies. I have never been in awe of such a place. The staff was so kind and patient. We had the most DELICIOUS pie and breakfasts I can ever recall. I can’t remember what my husband got because I am still drooling over the BLT with those earth shattering tomatoes that tasted like heaven. The biscuits were top notch and melted like butter in your mouth. And the pie! Oh my god that pie. It was the plum blackberry pie that I just know, I’ll never be able to recreate that as much as I would love to. Being from south Louisiana and having such amazing food up north was so unexpected and a wonderful surprise for us. Once we financially recover from all the money we spent while on our honeymoon (one of the reasons we were in Chicago) I’m ordering every single item online that I possibly can because I need to make sure that I can enjoy this place from home.

We ordered 2 dessert pies and a cookie and even though we got our cookie right away, for some reason, the pies took a very long time to come. But when we reminded them of the order, the staff was extremely nice and apologetic for the delay. They even gave extra desserts just to make up for it. The service was exceptional, just as good as the pies and cookie.

The staff is great, the food unbelievable. That doesn't do it justice.
Atmosphere, it's the FOOD. Be happy there's tables and chairs.

Slow service. But the food was great. The matcha s'mores pie was amazing and I don't even like matcha. But very annoying that just to get another cup of coffee I had to stand in line again for a long time.

They have the best vegan fruit pies ever. The citrus crumble and buttery crusts are amazing. My only complaint is that you have to order a full pie a few days ahead for the vegan ones (they don’t sell them by the slice at the shop 🥲). But so good and worth it!!

Friendly service, I was greeted as I walked in and was able to order right away. I ordered the biscuit and gravy with the works. The biscuit itself was super fluffy, and not too dense which made it enjoyable to eat and not get stuck in your throat. The egg was served round, stop the biscuit and it was surprisingly over easy with a runny yolk. The sausage tasted amazing with a very strong fennel flavor, which I liked. The gravy... Well, probably not the best Ive had but with everything else so good on the plate, it's easy to overlook that.
I enjoyed the outdoor bench seating, although there are indoor tables available as well.
A really nice experience and some really good food here!

The actual biscuit is everything. Sorry the pies are not good at all I have had the variety and ordered by slice. The lemonade tastes like its made from the concentrate lemon squeeze not fresh. Atmosphere is nice and staff are decent enough. So there you have it

Fun cozy spot with some tasty bites! The sausage biscuit was amazing, the biscuit really stole the show though. The cup of grits came as a bowl of grits and were alright. The key lime pie was perfect - not too sweet, not too tart. The service was so kind and inviting. The inside seating section is decent but they also have a great big outdoor section with picnic tables and a fence to make it feel more secluded. Love this spot!

The only thing worth on this menu is the chicken pot pie which was delish but the biscuits are so so so not worth it. We got a savoury and a sweet one and they both just tasted like cornbread, undercooked and just not very good
Disappointed because it is such an expensive place

I've been coming to Bang Bang Pies for about 12 years! It's one of my favorite places to talk about and visit when I come through Chicago. It has evolved over time, but thankfully has maintained its delicious staples: homemade biscuits, butter, jam, and cheese grits.

It’s a great stop, especially for bringing out-of-town visitors. The menu is simple, the prices are reasonable, and there's always friendly service. There’s seating inside and a nice courtyard with seating outside.

And their pies are the best I've had in the city. Order early for those!
