Decided to finally give this place a try on this Sunday evening. For an appetizer ordered the Popcorn Shrimp ???. My friend ordered the Spicy Buffalo Wings. Our pizza of choice was “the Buffalo Bill”, which includes Spicy Buffalo grilled Chicken, Celery, Mozzarella, Hot Giardiniera wing sauce, and ranch drizzle. The pizza was pretty good. My friend said he enjoyed the crust. Multiple football games on TVs through out the bar, what more can a person want? Our waitress Claire was on her A game tonight. Thanks for the hospitality.

This was a good meal, but the pizza was not particularly special. I did enjoy the Roman style pizza, but did not feel the style added any extra flavor or value to the dish. They have a nice heated back patio that makes for a good atmosphere.

Incredible staff. It started pouring rain on the patio and the staff was very kind to move our 8 person group inside. Beyond that the pizzas were huge and delicious. Would return and would recommend!

Very spacious. Nice outdoor patio. Great music and good pizza. I would have liked a bit more cheese on the pizza and for it to have been hotter.

We've been going to Phil Stefani's restaurants for many years. Lino's, 437 and Tuscany on Taylor were at one time, among our favorites. And although we realized that Bar Cargo was not on the same level, we thought we would try it. Sadly, it was very disappointing. We ordered the prosciutto appetizer with the fried dough. The prosciutto look like it had been sitting out for hours. It was dry, cut too thick and had no flavor. We ordered the meatball appetizer and found it to be very salty. We also ordered the Juliana pizza and found that the prosciutto was the same way on the pizza and the crust was very dry as well. We've eaten pizza all over Rome and it was nothing like any Roman pizza we've ever tasted. The service was also terrible. When we initially sat down, we waited at least 10 minutes for a server to approach our table. And once we were served our food, our waitress returned to see if we needed anything or to even give us our check. We eventually had to get up and ask the host for our check. Bar Cargo needs to figure out whether it's an authentic Roman Roman-style pizza bar or simply a place for sub-par bar food because even their menu doesn't make sense. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

One of the best pizzas in Chicago. This is not your traditional Chicago style pizza and it’s also not tavern style (both are great!). The crust is amazing, the pizza tastes great Have never had a bad experience here. Friendly and helpful staff too.
