I saw someone brushing their hair in the restaurant. Food was mediocre. Their salads aren't impressive. And gnocchi was tossed in what tasted canned tomato sauce
We didn't eat, we just had cocktails.
Lovely little spot. Great value. Really enjoyed lunch.
The tomato soup was delicious. The service was great too.
Exquisite in every way. Our server, bartender and helper were so nice, helpful and quick to assist us. Food was awesome, everything.!!!!!!!!
I am so happy we stopped here for dinner. The staff were knowledgeable and so kind to me when I told them of my gluten and dairy allergies. Service was amazing and the food was sublime. I missed eating Italian for fear of cross contamination but they reassured me pasta were cooked separately. What a lovely place! I will be revisiting when I'm back in town.
Edit: Forgot to add, my husband got an Amaretto sour and he said it was the BEST one he's had.

Anytime I am in Chicago, I always find myself coming back to basil leas cafe . I love the atmosphere the restaurant offers; really delicious food , my all time favorite has to be the linguine carbonara and the NY strip steak . Not to mention the servers are very attentive and very friendly people . When it’s nice out they have the crystal doors open and one can admire the city life , and they also offer outdoor sitting . This place is truly one of my all time favorites . Highly recommended. 😋

Great option for the gluten free eaters.
Good wine selection.
Ordered the gluten free calamari which was the best calamari I have ever had. No joke! My picky gluten free eating son ate the calamari and loved it. He wanted more.
The gluten free ravioli was also good.
The next big winner was the chicken fettuccini alfredo, my daughter gave it high praise.
Parking: Pre-pay for parking at Lurie Children’s parking lot if available. It was the easiest because street parking is very limited.

Long time LP restaurant. Always a pleasant place to relax for a drink at their side bar or dinner in the dining room.

Easy access to this restaurant from Lincoln Park. Excellent service. Large portions.
Dined outdoors with family including baby grandchild and dog. The food was good and generous portions, softening the overpricing. I had the seared tuna, which came cradled by asparagus salad. Not bad, would have preferred mashed potatoes. Daughter got pasta with garlic confit. Whole tasty garlic that might have mashed and blended into sauce. Homemade lasagna was very good. Desserts were a mixed bag. Chef is trying to be original, hitting and missing

Gluten Free items called out on the menu including gluten free fried calamari (which my wife hasn't had in years!) Everyone I our group found a dish they loved. Windows were open for fresh air. It was a great dinner.
