Batter & Berries Reviews
Great food and great service. I will be back for sure.
Exceptional service and performance every time I’ve been. Stand up. Been a patriot of this fine establishment for many years and it has been consistently outstanding.

We came here for brunch and had one of the most frustrating dining experiences ever.
• We ordered two avocado crab toasts, but the bill showed avocado crab toast and avocado toast separately. The server claimed the crab was just an “add-on,” yet they still charged us $33 for two — and the crab portion was tiny, barely the size of a coin.
• When we questioned the bill, their explanation made no sense. You can’t call something an add-on and then charge full price...read full review

Batter & Berries is a beloved local restaurant in Lincoln Park, celebrated for its delicious food and inviting atmosphere. The French toast, particularly the blueberry and caramel flavors, remains a highlight for many diners. The chicken and waffles, featuring cinnamon/sugar waffles and ample butter, is a must-try. Other excellent choices include the brisket hash and Ribeye Omelette, while the weekly French toast specials add variety to the menu. Guests can enjoy a French toast flight with flavors like lemon, strawberry, walnut, and blueberry, with the lemon tasting remarkably like lemon cake—a favorite among many. The food is consistently good, featuring freshly made shredded potatoes and house-made hot sauce that balances heat and flavor.
While most of the staff are friendly, warm, and efficient, some diners have noted that service can be hit or miss, with occasional delays in drink orders. However, the cozy atmosphere makes guests feel at home, and the restaurant's energy is vibrant. Though it can get crowded, especially during breakfast hours, arriving early or with a small group can enhance the chances of a quick seat. The restaurant is known for its big portions, making it easy to share, and many guests have enjoyed the unique charm of the staff, who sometimes bring a bit of fun to the dining experience. With a welcoming vibe, Batter & Berries continues to be a perfect spot for weekend brunch in Chicago.
