Great food and great service. I will be back for sure.
Batter & Berries hit exactly the way I needed it to on a cold Chicago morning. The second I walked in, the place had this warmth to it—not just the heat, but the people. The staff greeted everyone like regulars, and the whole room felt like a neighborhood spot where folks actually show up for each other. As someone traveling through, it honestly made me feel like I was home for a moment.
I ordered the French Toast Flight, and it lived up to the hype. Each piece had its own flavor and character, and you could tell they put intention behind every topping instead of just dressing up bread. It’s one of those dishes you slow down for just so it lasts a little longer.
Good food, good people, good energy. Exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble into when you’re far from home.

First time there and we left so happy! We got seated right away and got our orders taken quickly. Our server told us about all the specials and was very nice! We were constantly offered refills and our food was very fast to arrive. The food was amazing 👏 seriously such good flavors and lovely presentation. The outside did need some repairs but that didn't affect our experience at all. Loved how diverse the staff and customers were, I felt welcomed. Would eat here again!

Stopped by B&B and ordered the Sweet Potato French Toast!!!!! I don't usually like French toast but our server made it sound delicious and promised me I would like it.
The french toast was topped with small squares of actual Sweet potato pie and tasted like someone was signing negro spirituals while creating it. It was amazing!!!
Also we had a fantastic server. She was funny, knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive.

Batter and Berries is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Craig is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Great chicken n waffles. Must come back. 10/10.
I’d come here every weekend for brunch if I could. There is a wait because they do not do reservations. After being sat, the food did take maybe 40ish minutes to come out but it was delicious. We tried their creole omelet special of the day, the catfish special, hashbrowns, the French toast flight (best French toast I’ve ever had), and the chicken sausage which was not fresh and had a weird aftertaste. The staff were very friendly and polite. The noise level was pretty loud since there’s so many people in the small restaurant. And street parking was easy to find.

Exceptional service and performance every time I’ve been. Stand up. Been a patriot of this fine establishment for many years and it has been consistently outstanding. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5
We came here for brunch and had one of the most frustrating dining experiences ever. • We ordered two avocado crab toasts, but the bill showed avocado crab toast and avocado toast separately. The server claimed the crab was just an “add-on,” yet they still charged us $33 for two — and the crab portion was tiny, barely the size of a coin. • When we questioned the bill, their explanation made no sense. You can’t call something an add-on and then charge full price for both items. • To make it worse, they automatically add a 3% credit card fee. Yes, it’s printed on the bill, but this is a restaurant, not a special service — it’s unreasonable. If you don’t want to absorb payment fees, don’t accept credit cards. • And on top of everything, they expect an automatic 18% tip, calculated after tax and fees. By the time tax and fees were added, our bill came to almost $100 USD for just two toasts, two hash browns, and two eggs — and that’s before adding the 18% tip. Absolutely ridiculous. The pricing is misleading, the fees are unreasonable, and the overall experience left us feeling completely ripped off. Definitely not worth it and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Never Again!!
Batter & Berries did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the energy was everything. Our server, Taryn, deserves all the flowers—she knew those specials like she had been practicing them in the mirror every morning. Confident, knowledgeable, and so friendly, she really set the tone for the whole experience. The catfish was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crisp—fried to perfection without being greasy. And let’s talk about that French Toast Flight… I can’t even pick a favorite flavor because every single one was that good. Sweet, soft, and packed with flavor—truly a must-try. To top it off, the woman I’m assuming is the owner came around hyping us up, making us feel welcome and part of the vibe. It was the perfect start to our day before the Breezy Bowl. If you’re ever in Chicago, do yourself a favor and stop at Batter & Berries. Food = 🔥 Service = 💯 Vibes = unmatched.
I am writing to commend the exceptional service and efficient seating we experienced at your Chicago restaurant on Our family traveled from Milwaukee, and the prompt seating within ten minutes of arrival was greatly appreciated. The French toast flight was outstanding, a truly memorable part of our meal, deserving a perfect ten out of ten rating.
However, I also wish to address a significant concern regarding the Apple Belgique. The menu did not indicate the presence of nuts in this dish, a detail that was of serious concern given my child's life-threatening nut allergy. Both children were unable to eat the meal, necessitating a request to speak with a manager. While the manager addressed the situation by removing the meal and offering alternatives, I am requesting clarification on why the menu failed to clearly identify the presence of nuts in the Apple Belgique. This omission poses a considerable safety risk to customers with allergies.
We appreciate your prompt attention to the matter and hope to see improvements in menu accuracy and allergen labeling to prevent similar incidents in the future. The overall experience was positive, but this oversight requires immediate attention.

If you're into having a food experience this is the place to go. Not only do they serve these amazing flights of French toast, they have a BYOB. Who doesn't love a BYOB. I went with some girlfriends and ate my belly full. The food wasn't overwhelming and it was very tasty.

This was our first stop when we landed in Chicago. It was recommended by an airport employee. It did not disappoint! Our service was amazing! The food was mouthwatering and flavorful! The homemade hot sauce was delicious! For being a small eatery the energy and vibe inside is great! Only gave the atmosphere 4 starts due to the size!
