A relaxed, affordable and vibey brunch spot. Our server, Jacqueline, walked us through the menu and made ordering easy.
We picked the Silogs, the Tocinos. This was her suggestion, it’s made in house and a popular pick- very fatty, with a tangy savory sauce and a satisfying chew.
Our favorite were the croquettes. Pillowy soft inside with a perfect, fried crunch outside.
If you order the pork belly adobo, make sure to pour on some vinegar from the side tray!
Overall, these were healthy portions for the price.

Every dish here was incredible. We thought we were going to their location that just got a Michelin "recommend" rating -- but apparently made reservations at their more affordable location next door.
Nonetheless, I was amazed at the quality of the food. The noodles were so fresh. The shrimp were large.
The Ropa Vieja was plentiful.
Our waiter was very "chill". He visited enough to take care of us -- without ever being overbearing like so many nice places where it interrups a romantic evening out.
This spot is kinda' perfect!
We'll definitely be back.
My only wish would be that they had brewed iced tea, instead of the artificial kind from a pop machine.
Don't skip dessert with the fried banana -- and be sure to get all 3 ice creams. We got all Phillipino flavors, and I'm glad we did. They were delicious, and flavors you won't find very many other places in Chicago.
Cheers!

I’m Filipino and for other Pinoys out there looking for authentic Filipino cuisine, this is not it. I don’t think it tries to be, the putis in the area would turn their noses at dried pusit, patis, bagoong and especially balut, so it has to dumb it down for American tastes. Same with the Cuban aspect, there’s no classic ropa vieja or lechon to be found (save for the Cuban sandwich). Even in this realm, it lacks substance and ingenuity. Unfortunately, this works against what could be utterly stellar fare. As per the usual with every brunch menu, it looks stupendous but ultimately disappoints. Sisig incorporates pork belly instead of the traditional pork cheeks and the potatoes overwhelm. Pork adobo was fine, save for a few toothsome chunks of pork fat that needed a tad more rendering. Bottom line, don’t come here expecting traditional Filipino and Cuban dishes, but if you tire of avocado toast and French toast flights, come on in and have a ball of a brunch.

Today my daughter and I went there for the very first time. The food is delicious! I appreciate the great service. They helped to make my daughter feel special and very loved on her birthday. Thank you so much. Definitely try this place out.

One of the best meals we have had in a long time. We tried almost everything. The Lumpia and empanadas were delicious. The Adobo wings and Bistek were our favorite mains. Everything was served family style and perfect for sampling. The atmosphere was fun and the staff was very friendly. We can't wait to go back with friends and try the entire menu.

Fully ignored multiple times by 2 servers when I walked in. Wasn’t until I asked, “excuse me, who’s the host?” then was asked where I wanted to sit and that the host had called off today.
Food
The best part of my brunch was the cafe con leche; immaculate!
The silogs was ok - garlic rice and eggs were cold and the longaniza was greasy; the cucumber and tomato salad was good.
Overall
This is my third time here and the last. Service has been the biggest issue every single time.
Disappointed as a person of color, since I love to see minority owned businesses thrive within our neighborhood.

Came in for brunch, right away you feel like you've been transported to an island with a vibrant but warm feeling. The food was pleasantly surprising. For a fusion spot I think they did a wonderful job respecting both the Filipino and Cuban flavors. Will definitely return!

Cafecito and drip coffee were good. Beef empanadas and ube pancakes were absolutely amazing. The Pinoy burrito left a lot to be desired. Was very bland, and the sausage did not bring much flavor to the burrito, honestly didn’t even notice it. I would say that I would come back again, I’d just skip the breakfast burrito and try something else. Service was good but I will say, the food took forever to come out.

Somehow this was my first time at this incredible place. High-quality ingredients. Top-quality service. Extremely reasonable prices. Charming decor. Fab music. I rarely write reviews, but this experience blew me away. I got the Silogs with beef tapa and the cafe con leche, literal chef’s kiss. The marinade on the beef was craveable — savory, salty, smokey, hint of sweetness — especially paired with the garlic rice and runny eggs. Definitely stop in!!
