I think this is one of the best red sauce restaurants in the city. Always goodand totally reasonable.
Great neighborhood joint. Pastas, sauces, salads, breads... all delicious. Service was off and prosecco flat, but food made up for it.
I don’t do a lot of reviews but this is such an outstanding place I’ll gladly share. On the Sunday after SAIC graduation we came in with our 6. Loved the front windows being opened, loved never having to ask for refills, now double the love for the food. The sausage and peppers , octopus and fettuccine Alfredo are just a few of the standouts . Portions are incredible, all fresh and homemade. Any Chicago visit will now include a trip to Bella Notte.
Dietary restrictions: Had gluten free and vegetarian options galore.
My friend and I went for dinner. The server never gave us a QR code until he asked if we were ready. After, he would check every 30 seconds and ask for our orders and we keep telling him that we need a few minutes. When he took our orders, I ordered something completely different from my friend. He returns with two exact same food, forgets our minestrone, and proceeds to walk away. He comes back a few minutes later, and I tell him that I ordered mussels over linguine and he insists that I ordered what my friend ordered, which was mostaccioli, and says it with an aggressive attitude. I tell him it was wrong, and it was fine, but just make mussels on the side. A few minutes later, our soup comes out. And shortly after, an entire full order of mussels over linguine comes out. I didn’t think anything of it. The check comes, we get charged for a full order of mussels over linguine AND two orders of mostsccioli. Not only that, we take our time with the check because my friend and I were chatting and I was enjoying my wine, he shows up asking for the check with an annoyed tone.
Love this place! The brothers that run it have really made the restaurant a well-oiled machine, and the food hasn’t changed one bit! Top notch!** RECOMMEND: Baked Cavatelli is my favorite dish. I’ve been ordering it for over 10+ years.
Came here late, just an hour before closing, but had a great experience. Being a Sunday night, staff was extremely light, but so good overall. Prompt service, phenomenal food with large portions, and good ambiance.
Food was kind of ok until we saw some uninvited guests and we couldn't eat anymore. Service was horrible, I have to stand and go look for the waiter at times.
As a local small business owner, and a patron of Bella Notte for 15 years I had an experience that I felt needed a review to commend a family owned business. Decided to host my office holiday lunch there and due to some miscommunication with the reservation when we showed up we realized they were not open for dine in lunch (carry out only). The owner/manager went above and beyond. Rather than turning us away he warmly seated us and provided AMAZING service. The grilled octopus appetizer and calamari were amazing as always, and the pastas are top notch. It is so very hard to run and staff a business in the post Covid world, I would like to commend Bella Notte for constantly turning out great food and providing great service. Will definitely be back again and again. It is up to Chicagoans to support establishments like this that take pride in their food and service. Thanks Bella Notte!!!
Food and drinks are excellent as is price point but it is very gloomy and would be helped by candles on each table. Also no "real" menus which I loathe, hate reading off my phone.
Best Italian food in town. Great service, I would recommend it ?

This is my first review of any restaurant. We live one block away and have given Belle Notte two attempts. Both were met with an unprofessional staff, a lack of general cordiality, and a general sense of smugness from the owner. Unfortunate to observe when the neighborhood needs more small businesses to thrive. Please advise,
I had the minestrone soup, chopped salad, tiramisu and a cappuccino. All of it was excellent, but the best part was the service. Very attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend.
Really fantastic food. Best calamari I've had in a long time. Pasta was super fresh and just melted in your mouth. I had ravioli, sausage and peppers... All great. Everyone just raved about their food. If you have not been..... Put it on your list
I made a reservation for 8:30. When we got there we for some reason were sat at the only table without plates, silverware, or glasses. Right away I checked what time they closed because it felt like the servers were rushing us and annoyed that we were there. And they don't close until 10:30 so I was confused as to why. Overall the food was not good but not bad. Just okay. Not a spot id come back to. I gave 3 because their portion sizes are huge and if you don't eat Italian often you'd probably think it was good.
From the bread, baked clams, meatballls, 2 types of pasta and 2 veal dishes, the food was incredible. This is probably the best Italian restaurant we have been to in decades. Everything is so fresh. The portions are huge. We never made so many "yummy" sounds while eating. The service was amazing! The tira misu was outstanding. Our doggie bag smelled like heaven all the way home. Can't wait to go back.
