I liked the decor and ambiance of the place, but unfortunately, the food was rather disappointing. In my opinion, there are many better British pubs in Chicago, so I wouldn't come back here the next time I'm in the city.

I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend on March 15th—a busy day in Chicago—so I was willing to cut them some slack. To be fair, our server, Adam, was awesome, and the kitchen nailed the 1000-layer potatoes. However, the restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived, and the experience fell short in several ways.

Earlier in the day, we visited three other restaurants, all of which handled the crowds effortlessly while delivering excellent service and quality. Unfortunately, this place didn’t measure up. We were seated at a table with trash and food underneath it, which was pretty unappealing. On top of that, they served $18 cocktails in plastic cups, which felt cheap given the price. When we decided to leave and asked for the bill, it was incorrect. I usually wouldn’t double-check, but when I glanced at my phone and saw it was $90, it raised a red flag. The manager did fix the issue, but the whole situation felt off.

With so many restaurants in Chicago that excel in both service and cleanliness, I don’t see a reason to return. My time is too valuable to spend at a mid-level restaurant that doesn’t meet basic standards.

Incredible food and amazing service! We enjoyed the cocktails, cesar salad, and chicken tikka masala. Our server Griffin was wonderful and Sabas kept the waters coming all night. Highly recommend the porn star martini for a delicious treat!

I do not have the privilege of living in a city with a large British population, and most British Pubs/Restaurants one finds as they travel this world conform to the (false) adage that British food is dull, bland, boring, etc.

I can honestly say this is some of the best British food I have ever eaten outside of Great Britain. The price point was decent, the service was okay, but the food was more than good, it was excellent.

Can someone please open up one of these places in LA? - Please

Tried M&L for lunch during Restaurant Week and was unimpressed. The Brisket Burger was unremarkable as was the Truffle Mac & Cheese (couldn't taste any truffle). The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was reasonable and the Chips (fries) were delightful. Despite a near-empty restaurant in the mid-afternoon, service was lacking. Nothing was compelling enough to interest us in a return visit.

Leaving a 3 star review only because after the fact now noticing a “surcharge” fee of 4%. This is tacky and rude to consumers as we’re already paying extra for tip and what not. Increase food prices if you’re going to impose this discreet fee on your costumers.

Will probably not come back due to the principle of this fee and it’s a shame because the setting and food was pretty good.

I had a chicken pot pie and a Mediterranean salad . Pot pie was excellent. The salad was bad, put me on my back for two days . Noro virus was diagnosed with medical professionals .

Our server, M. P., provided an exceptional level of service during our visit. We did not need to request a water refill, as she consistently engaged with us at our table and ensured that my guest's birthday celebration was memorable. The grilled chicken on my Caesar salad was of remarkable quality; it maintained a perfect level of moisture throughout.
