Seated right away, after we established that we dd not want one of the high tables. Service was right on top of things, and we tried the Crispy Pepper Shrimp from the specials menu and thus added a new all-time favorite to our list, for what god that will do. We DID inquire of everyone whether our Big Bowl, which was advertised as closing on April 28, was closing for good or just temporarily, and got a consistent reply that we could order the Big Bowl menu from Wildfire. We were offered a free dessert as consolation for our loss, but no concrete information. Had an excellent time, and hope this is just a closing for redecoration or something. All stars all round!
It was my first time to Big Bowl and we chose it because they are gluten friendly for my friend and someone from the area recommended it. The server was good and aware that I didn't like my meal and voluntary reported it to the manager. He asked if there was an issue, and I said I just personally didn't care for the sauce and soft vegetables. The proactive approach was very appreciated. The food and atmosphere was very much a chain restaurant feel. The spicy Szechuan beef was very sweet and why I don't order Mongolian. The vegetables were super soft and over sauced. I do appreciate them proactively taking the meal off my check, but I still will not be returning. We tipped in the full amount the check would have been. I prefer more authentic food.
Very convenient because it's close to my Organic SPA Chicago !and very tasty! Love it !
Juan was an amazing server. The pad thai was delicious. And the ambiance was perfect after a long day at a conference. Thank you!!

Great! It was a friends birthday we were seated at a booth per our request and they even gave us two desserts, which was so sweet no pun intended. Everything was perfect. I love big bowl!!
Food was excellent in terms of taste and value. Service was excellent and the waiter even went out of their way to see if all dishes could prepared gluten free so we could share amongst the party when one had a gluten allergy.
Dietary restrictions: Had gluten free options and seemed very attentive with maintaining non cross contamination.

We were taken right away to an excellent booth, and our waitress arrived almost immediately after that. The food was hot and excellent, and beverage refills were no problem. For the first time, when we requested containers to take our leftovers home, we were offered a container for the leftover soup as well (which did NOT leak on the way home.) A great evening, with everything we had hoped for: all stars all around!
The food was good and the service was good. The place did not feel clean and the women's bathroom was actually dirty and not taken care of. I probably would go back to a Big Bowl, but not this one.
This was the worse Asian-inspired food I have ever had. The egg rolls were doughy and lacked flavor. The fried rice was gummy and also lacked flavor. I thought I could not go wrong by this being a Lettuce Entertain restaurant. I have never been more wrong. It was terrible, a complete waste of money. I will never go back and if you're reading this then I suggest you go somewhere else.

The restaurant was very beautiful. I love the decor. It was almost a little too dark in there. I wish there was a lamp or something on the table. The food was great and they gave generous portions..even on the kid's menu. The price wasn't too bad either. I would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for my salmon being waaay over cooked and the extremely long hair I found in my food. The worst part is that I had eaten half of it before I saw it. The food clung to it like it was a string of pearls which makes me think the hair was in there at the time the food was cooked. I was so grossed out. Also, the waiter didn't give us refills. We had to wave her down to get our refills.
They seemed to have a lot of takeout orders but the manager was stepping up to fill them. He took our dinner order when he brought our drinks. My husband tried to order a bourbon and water. The server didn't know what bourbon was and didn't understand the drink. He ordered a beer instead to be safe. The 3% service charge is ridiculous. As usual Big Bowl didn't give me dining points & I have to contact corporate.
Big Bowl (downtown Chicago on Ohio St.) is always a treat. Good food, good value and EXCELLENT service (my latest hero is Brittany!) Only complaint is with parent company, Lettuce Entertain You. They automatically add a (small) surcharge to all checks, claiming this will help them keep costs down (?) Given we're past the "supply chain issues" days, and also given that, regardless of this surcharge, Big Bowl has INCREASED THEIR PRICES BY AT LEAST 25% ACROSS THE BOARD, this surcharge leaves a bad taste (pun recognized.) They WILL remove the surcharge if asked, but how many people see that note in small print? As this surcharge was supposed to have been a stopgap during hard times, it's time for Lettuce Entertain You to remove this automatic extra fee.
Food is really good.

All of our food was amazing. You can tell it was cooked fresh for how hot it was. Service was a little slow, but the value was great. 100% recommend. I've been there multiple times before too.
