I've attended several events at Big Delicious Planet including Farm Dinners, Fall Fest, Show Some Love, and more! Every time I am so impressed with the delicious food and drinks. I love that they grow their own produce and herbs. They also put so much attention and effort into the presentation of not only their food and drinks, but the ambiance of everything as well. It is a beautiful space, especially in the summer months! I highly recommend them for any dining or catering experience.

We got married in September of 2023 and we are so happy we chose BDP as our wedding venue. From the start, Chelsey and Anilee were responsive and helpful. They were easy to talk to and also incredibly accommodating. It made the whole wedding process that much smoother. Not only do they have a remarkable team, but the venue itself is a magical oasis. There is no other place like it in the city. The team does such a great job at maintaining the property and I love how resourceful and environmentally friendly they are. Having our wedding there was an absolute dream. Being surrounded by nature and eating food from their garden was so special. All of the staff there on our wedding day were so kind, helpful and made sure we had the perfect day. They even took our wedding cake inspo and made it better than we expected! It was not only beautiful, but absolutely delicious! Thank you again BDP for cultivating such a wonderful environment and for helping us have the wedding of our dreams. We can’t wait to be back!

Big Delicious Plant made planning food for our wedding exciting and put us at ease at the same time. We absolutely made the right choice. From the tasting to the day of the wedding everything was smooth. The food, Oh my the FOOD!! It was top tier. Our guest could not get enough. We are still hearing friends and family share their joy with us over the food. If you are considering BDP for your event, just say YES! You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I used Big Delicious Planet to cater our wedding, and we're going to recommend them to anyone who asks from now on. Jasmine, Heidi, and the talented food professionals at BDP helped us curate a custom Southern-Style Brunch Buffet for our guests, and the planning process was a stress-free joy. Their bartenders, servers, and staff are friendly, talented, and accommodating, not to mention the menu was delectable. BDP harvests so many of their vegetables, herbs, and produce from their own gardens and incorporate them creatively and deliciously into their menu. Come the event, my husband and I got countless complements on the food. THANK YOU.

We definitely splurged on catering by selecting BDP for our wedding as our priority was focused on food, and the team was so wonderful from beginning to end. Meals and drinks were crafted with quality. Staff were quick and accurate in service. Chelsey was quick and patient in responding to our questions/concerns. Their farm is adorable and efficient!

Hands down the best place to photograph and eat in Chicago! Here are some recent photos I took at their stunning urban farm dinner series.

We went during the summer for a Barbie themed dinner and it was 100/100! We had the time of our lives dining outside with great cocktails, food, company, and Barbie's! We all dressed up in honor of Barbie and it was a riot. One of the members got a free bottle of sparkling for the "best dressed Barbie" and it was so fun! I love how everything is farm to table and everything is made in house. The farm is phenomenal and I loved how organic and delicious it was. They have different theme dinners throughout the year and I'll definitely be coming back!

Omg! Why have I not known about this place!!! I was invited to my god daughter's wedding that was held here. I had no idea this place existed. When I entered I was amazed! It was an outdoor wedding and it was beautiful! I felt I was in the garden of Eden. You feel like you're in Tuscany. I can't explain how gorgeous and unbelievable it looked. It was a small, intimate wedding. This place grows their own vegetables, flowers; everything there. It's an urban farm so the food was fresh and so delicious! I've never had a meal at any wedding that was so good. Actually the food was one of the best meals I've eaten compared to some of the best restaurants I've been to. I'm so happy I was able to experience this wonderful event. I'll never forget it.

The Wednesday Big Delicious garden dinners are not at all worth the $200 price tag. The food was mediocre at best and was served cold. Specifically the trout was hammered (i.e. hard and dry) and inedible. I'm sure they are a decent wedding caterer. But that's all the food is - it's wedding food. There weren't enough appetizers to go around and wine wasn't refilled generously. The waiters prioritized having the food to be photographed by the photographer over serving guests. I literally had to fight a crowd to get a single oyster. It makes sense though - the very first question asked by multiple staff members including Heidi the owner was 'how did you hear about us'. Instagram was usually the answer, so it's clear what their customer acquisition strategy is. First priority is making everything instagrammable and second priority is guests. Also it was my bday and nothing was done to make it a more special experience for me. While many people were celebrating, it would've been nice to get some sort of personal touch given how much we paid for the dinner. You're better off spending the same amount for a Michelin tasting menu.

We got married in the BDP farm on 8/25/23. We are still BLOWN AWAY at how beautiful our wedding day was. We would relive our wedding day over and over again if we could! If you are considering an intimate wedding, there is no better place than BDP to host your event.I first came across BDP while browsing “small Chicago weddings” and discovered the idea of hosting our event in the farm. Logan and I are both active and Logan loves to cook (Logan’s mom is a fitness trainer) so we were hooked on having a green caterer and the farm to table nature. Choosing and supporting local vendors was a priority as well. Since our first email and conversation with Jasmine and Chelsey I knew I wanted to work with BDP. They are prompt, thorough, very genuine and kind. In fact, when I toured the venue with Chelsey in the winter despite the garden being covered and gray, I felt so taken care of that I knew we should say yes to hold our event here.Jasmine was our event coordinator and truly hand held us throughout the entire process. She spent many hours talking with us over the phone, e-mail exchanges, planning our tasting, meeting with other vendors, hosting our ceremony rehearsal, and the list goes on. While planning, Jasmine exceeded every expectation we could have ever wanted out of a venue, planner and coordinator. Jasmine is kind, authentic, to the point and so organized. We did not have planner or day of coordinator so a few times I felt overwhelmed or stressed from planning but Jasmine always gave us full confidence and calmly answered any questions we had.Somehow BDP executed nearly all of our desires from the table decor, the table design, the custom menus, and the cocktail hour floor plan, the ceremony assigned seating... I felt so at ease and supported. The food was one of a kind, all of our guests said it was the freshest and most flavorful meal they have had. Every bite is as flavorful as it looks. How magical it is to eat in the middle of the urban farm. Logan likes to say “food is love” - BDP lives this out because of how meticulous the plates look and of course how luxurious everything tastes. BDP helped us choose 2 custom cocktails, 3 passed appetizers for cocktail hour, salad, family style entree, a dessert bar and also made our vintage wedding cake. Not only do they master drinks and food but the desserts are phenomenal. By having BDP we truly had a one stop shop for everything! Though, I think my favorite part of the afternoon was standing in the middle of the garden for the ceremony. The garden is pristinely maintained, rich in color and variety. Having family scattered throughout and right at sunset while we shared our vows was MAGIC!BDP, Heidi and the team - thank you for your passion, enthusiasm and care throughout the entire wedding process. We can’t wait to be back in the garden for an urban farm dinner!

Review for the farm dinner, not the catering specifically. This dinner was fantastic! Abundant and delicious food (family style), great folks, lovely setting. Not a cheap experience, but really fun and well-executed.

Big Delicious Planet was the caterer for our wedding day & we could not be more grateful for how everything turned out. From the initial tasting to our actual wedding dinner, Jasmine of Big Delicious Planet was so communicative & supportive of all of our choices throughout. The food at Big Delicious Planet is absolutely outstanding - we had so many guests go out their way to compliment everything from the salad to the dessert. The staff throughout our wedding night was friendly & attentive & we could not have asked for better service. We highly recommend Big Delicious Planet as a caterer for any event!

Big Delicious Planet catered the appetizers for the cocktail hour of my wedding. They provided mini sandwiches, dips, and a beautiful charcuterie board. All of the guests loved everything. In fact, I think my father-in-law put the caramelized onion dip in his car to bring home.Thank you so much to Annilee for helping me make decisions and orchestrating the pickup. The process was flawless and helped to make our special day perfect.
