Perfect coffee shop! Excellent coffee. No pretentious attitude and surprisingly tasty food. I was glad I found this place in what otherwise looked like a pretty sad coffee situation in the local neighborhood….

We ordered a matcha, chai, and cappuccino! All were excellent. My one request is to start offering coconut milk as an alternative milk. Both employees working were very helpful and kind!!

The service was quick and they roast their own beans and make their own syrups. We had the brown sugar miso latte, which was a unique sweet and savory combination. Their pour our was a 48-hour anaerobic process, which was also uniquely spicy and tasty. The interior was relatively small, so seating was a bit limited.

The chai latte and decaf americano were both good. Service was good. The place is really small, so at rush time, it felt quite crowded.

I’ve found myself at Big Shoulders Coffee located on State street in what’s referred to as North Loop. BSC is a bit of a gem. I ordered my customary cappuccino, in a mug, a bit dry. However, I also gambled on a cardamom latte as I have a particular penchant for the spice.
BSC certainly did The Windy City proud. Not only was this stop a respite from the unrelenting wind, BSC also offers an outstanding cappuccino. The elixir was certainly flavor forward and the foam was a masterclass in what is achieved when a Barista is serious about their craft.
As for the cardamom latte, hypnotic. Simply a delicious escape on this Fall day.
Should you find yourself walking the refined shops on Bellevue, take a quick stroll to Big Shoulders Coffee and loose yourself for 30min. It’s well worth it.
Enjoy.

I don’t know which was worse, the coffee or the attitude of the baristas. Nice enough place to sit though.
