Lovely little coffee shop with a quiet relaxed vibe. Coffee is excellent, I’m just visiting Chicago but it’s the best I’ve had so far. Strong recommend.

I got the brown sugar miso latte, and it was incredible. Very rich though, I could not finish a full size. My only issue is that the prices are fairly high, especially for the slushies, DONT get them, they are around 10 bucks and one sized, and that size is like a normal medium for watered down vanilla flavor

The baristas are so friendly and answered questions I had. I got the cardamom iced latter and my friend got the strawberry matcha slushie. We both loved our drinks and can’t wait to go back.

Stayed at the Sofitel over the long weekend and came here 3 times. The first day, I got a vanilla latte and it was good. Day two, I ordered a lavender latter (there was an upcharge that was not shown on the wall menu). I was halfway back to the hotel when I tasted it and there's no way there was any lavendar syrup in there. $7 for a small, unflavored latte. Day 3, I went somewhere else. Day 4, I went back, got another vanilla latte and, again, no taste of vanilla. It certainly was nowhere near Day1's experience.
I will never go back.

Walking into Big Shoulders Coffee instantly feels grounding. The space balances modern design with robust industrial touches exposed brick, steel accents, and earthy tones give it quiet strength. Natural light spreads warmly across sturdy wood tables, inviting you to settle in with intention. It is a setting made for those who linger yet feel centered.

Their flat white was rich and silky, expertly balanced with just the right crema. A slice of their house-made banana bread arrived moist and hearty sweet comfort with a teaspoon of warmth. The staff offered their smiles like familiar faces, welcoming yet unobtrusive. Every sip felt clear, every bite felt mindful, making it a spot I’d return to again with ease.

The best espresso I’ve had outside the loop! Food, service, vibe all top notch. Good little walk from the loop/waterfront to get here daily!

What appears to be the only genuine speciality coffee shop in the area, with everything a coffee lover needs, from a full coffee service, to good pastries and WiFi, for those that need to hook up, and catch up.
