Absolutely delicious meal with friendly, attentive service by Teng (spelling!). Everything was well-prepared and presented beautifully. Omit small complaint was the menus were nearly impossible to read even with our glasses/contacts in. But a minor thing. We will absolutely be back. Thanks for a great night!
My friend and I went here for restaurant week. For the first course we had the corn ribs and spicy crab wontons (which were essentially crab rangoon). Both were good.
Second course was the 24k maki, it was decent, you could taste the truffle oil and they put lots of fish eggs on top.
The third/main course is what blew us away! The panang salmon came with three huge pieces of salmon and a delicious sweet/spicy coconut curry sauce. My friend was basically drinking the sauce like a soup. Would definitely come back for that! And we had the udon carbonara. The noodles were creamy and bouncy. They were served with a creamy egg yolk on top and crispy Chinese sausage slices. These portions were big and we could barely finish this course!
Finally, for dessert we had the banana Nutella wontons which were good and what you would expect. The sweet potato crème brûlée knocked our socks off!! It was so creamy and sweet and they served it inside the potato which was fun.
Friendly staff, fun tropical atmosphere, definitely would come back.
They also had a good selection of cocktails, mocktails, teas, and even coffee. Could be a fun place to just grab drinks and apps.
Please add the crème brûlée to the regular menu! My friend said it changed the course of her entire life!! 😂❤️

Absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming - loved all the fun decorations and hawaiian-y vibes.
It was definitely very busy when we arrived. We waited a little bit past our reservation, but the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive.
We went for restaurant week and the food was great—fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Lots of food, 4 courses!!! I’d say this was one of the most worth restaurant week places we’ve been too. It was only $45 for dinner. The overall experience was fantastic.
Our waitress, Jip, was very kind throughout our restaurant experience! Helped me out with a friend’s birthday too. Gave us complimentary lemon drop shots and a little birthday celebration :)
I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to friends and family.

Best meal I’ve had in years! Sushi, ramen, cocktails.. 10/10. Our server, Tan, was great too. We’ll be back next time we come through Chicago. Thank you.

This place never disappoints. Not only do we always get great service, but the food is amazing! I love that they have a whole vegetarian menu! We’ve had the server Tan a few times and he is fantastic - super attentive. A small detail from our most recent visit - they have orchids on every plate for display and I was collecting them to put in a display at home. One of the bussers noticed and offered a to-go box for them. Such a small thing, but such attention to detail. 10 out of 10 recommend this place!

We have loved Bites in the past but were super disappointed this time. The crying tiger was extremely tough and chewy, just overall disappointing.
First time at Bites and I struggled with the overall review rating! Decided I couldn't give this place under 4 stars because whoever is cooking in the kitchen has some serious skill, and you can't be mad sitting under a palm tree. Just wish the professionalism of the restaurant matched the superior food quality
To start off, our service was horrendous. We went for the first day of restaurant week. The restaurant wasn't that busy due to the freezing temps, but we proceeded to watch our server socialize with the bartenders, chat with other waitstaff at the back kitchen window and pay no attention to our table. Took ~20 minutes to be greeted and get a drink order and nearly every table that was seated after us was finished before we even saw dessert. 1/5 stars
Now the food...THAT is what will bring us back and keep us dreaming of BITES.
Food reviews:
Crab Rangoon--crispy light outside with a delicate flavorful filling. Unlike any crab Rangoon I've had before and not heavy at all
Corn ribs--good cook, solid flavor, but just okay compared to rest of dishes
24k maki--amazing flavor profile and generous portion of fish. However both of our rolls were MISSING the beautiful 24k gold that was supposed to be over the top (took away from the aesthetic of the namesake of the dish)
Panang salmon--WOW. Standout dish by far. Beautiful crispy cook on the salmon and spice from the sauce. I originally asked for sauce on side and proceeded to use the entire ramekin. You could drink that stuff
Creme brûlée sweet potato--wouldn't recommend. Lacked a wow factor or really any creme anglaise to make it dessert. Also came with a plastic spoon which felt unprofessional...

I discovered this place randomly mostly Google and because it’s close to the bars. I called at first there was a wait but when I arrive there was opening at the bar so we went to the bar. The food was beautiful and delicious! The price point is reasonable the decors are cute. One less star I wish it was bigger and more seating and the restroom it’s kinda weird to pass through the kitchen. Other than that will definitely go back for delicious drinks and food! Highly recommended ! Make sure you make a reservation . It gets busy

Great espresso martini, spicy crab Rangoon, soft shell crab mini sliders were all amazing! Fun music and lovely staff make this place a solid thai place!
