Everything was beautifully flavored, the meat was incredibly tender, and the Crème Brûlée was, bar none, the best I have ever had!
Mine was an unusual experience - my dinner companion didn't make it for early 5PM dinner. While waiting for an hour in a still empty very cozy & comfortable dining room with generous table spacing, my server Kevin recommended an excellent Malbec (they were out of Pinot Noirs), and I ended up leaving with takeout for a home dinner with family. The Chicken Kebab survived a quick Uber ride without needed to be warmed up -- a generous portion with perfectly grilled veggies that weren't half raw as is so often the case. And, the beet/arugula salad was scrumptious, just lightly dressed and with crunch added by sliced radishes and a sweet note from dried apricot strips. I splurged on 2 portions of freshly made Tiramisu -- delicious and clearly house-made, and 1 portion enough for three. I hope to be back soon & actually dine inhouse!!
It is is good to note that it was a split on the meal--my friend had a kebab meat dish that was very good indeed. I had two starters, a salad and a veggie pancake (not great). Salad was fine and big, but the pancake was stodgy and wet, just not great. I want to also be fair to say that despite not having any main vegetarian dishes, as things are made from scratch, the waiter said many things could be made veggie. I just didn't opt to try any of the mains. The restaurant is charming and a definite go to if you want to hear the person you are with, intimate and lovely. The waiter was great and he twins as a bartender. I asked for a drink he had never made, he looked it up and it came back perfectly. So even though our review is not strong, and I would suggest to the restaurant maybe consider one veggie entree that is done for a veggie (not a conversion, I would say still go. Good option in the area.
We really wanted to love this place since we live a block away but, we walked in and there was only 2 other tables occupied. We asked for one of the 3 open end tables and was immediately told that they were reserved - the actual table was reserved seems a little off but whatever. The kicker was that we perused their menu ahead of time and were a little shocked that the online price was different from the printed menu price. The owner told us he has a new website and the one I viewed was old, that was it - zero apologies and nothing offered except to pay the higher price. Again, wanted to love and support this local eatery but as a customer, I felt like I was taken advantage of.
We have dined here many times and every time is extremely enjoyable. Tonight was no different with excellent, friendly service and delicious food. I had the lamb shank and found it very tender and flavorful. Kevin is an excellent server.
The room is lovely. The food is good. The service is slow at best. We were there at 5:45 and it was not that crowded. I think the kitchen has problems as well as the servers. There doesn't seem to be anyone in charge.
We loved this restaurant the waiter was great, the food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. overall experience was good! I'd recommend trying it. Small in size but big in delivery!
This was the first time dinning there and the food was delicious. Very good service as well.
Black & Caspian always gives great service and generous portions! The food is always amazing.
Overall disappointing experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was quaint and relaxed. Service was fantastic, our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food however completely missed the mark. Maybe an off night for the kitchen but our entire group was taken aback with how off each entrée was.

I am surprised I had never heard of this place; highly recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint. Food was excellent and it is a small place so service is very fast and friendly. Tuna tartar was off the hook. I ordered the lamb shank which was terrific but now I want to go back for the marble steak. Great location but free parking was a little tough on a Friday night. There is a parking garage right down the street though. The Creme Brulee was not on the menu but it is a must!!! They take their tea very seriously but have a full bar and extensive wine and cocktail menu. We were able to get a table right away at 7pm but it filled up pretty fast. Fun crowd.

Went in for the first time on Wednesday and was delighted at how great the experience was. I was in a bit of a rush for an event and thankfully the staff were very quick to make my order. The portion of my dish was very large and was happy to take some leftovers. Their wine was also delicious, looking forward to coming back and trying the other items from the menu.

Had such a great time at Back and Caspian.
Server was awesome. Had the lamb shanks and they were literally falling off the bone. The entire plate with pasta and veggies went really well together.
They make a really mean smoked old fashioned
