Fantastic biz lunch experience . Greeted by the friendliest manager Nikki! Made it a great time and will be back soon!

The Black Barrel burger used to be so consistently good and it's a shame to have changed. The buns were not fresh, they were skimpy with the cheese and they changed the yummy crunchy savory pickles to the sweet bread and butter pickles. If memory serves, it also used to have a sauce on it too, which might further explain why it was more dry and out of balance. It was voted best burger in the city in 2020 so I don't know why they had to mess with a good thing. The fries were cold and overcooked. : / The only positives were that the server was lovely and my Dad liked the chili.

Noise level where we were sitting made it difficult to talk to one another but wouldn't keep us from returning. More the group sitting by us that were bit obnoxious

If you want an amazing burger & fries this is the place. The food is delicious and a good value. Outdoor seating is great.

We had a wedding proposal party there. We arrived early and waa greeted by Chirsty with a big smile and even bigger energy. The entire team was fantastic and so was the food. THANKS FOR A MEMORABLE EVENING.

I’ve been here 4 time as it’s right down the street from me and every time it has just been okay. Today I think was the worst as we did not get bread after asking, the fish and chips were smaller than usual and flavorless. The burger is good. Maybe we just don’t know what to get? They also seem understaffed

Great daily special of full slab or ribs, corn on the cob and fries for $18. My only complaint is the happy hour cocktails. They only had a few that were half price and since I'm not much of a drinker I ordered tequila sunrise. To my surprise it was a can and was something with seltzer and some tequila. And awful. Our server "jazzed" it up with some fruit but still pretty bad. So as a novice drinker very disappointed. The few times and places I've ever gone to a happy hour all cocktails were half price.

Black Barrel Tavern is a true staple in the West Loop for classic bar food done right. The menu has all the favorites—generous portions, great flavor, and the kind of comfort food you can always count on. What really sets this place apart is the ownership. George, the owner, is extremely personable and makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. The atmosphere is friendly, laid-back, and even pet-friendly, which makes it one of the most inviting neighborhood spots around. A perfect place to enjoy good food, great service, and a genuine community vibe

Better than average bar food and fair pricing for a weekday lunch. Recommend this West Loop spot. Clean as well.
