I love coffee and often find it hard to find coffee I like …. Blue bottle coffee is one of only three coffee joints that I think are top tier … and the best part is that the staff are incredibly friendly

I love Blue Bottle - all very consistent throughout the country! I especially loved that this one is surrounded by such beautiful architecture.

It was in my to-do list in Chicago because blue bottle coffee inspired my favorite coffee spot overseas. I left quite disappointed with pricy coffee and not tasty pastry. I believe years ago that place was way more inspiring and nice

Stopped in for a quick treat and walked out feeling ripped off.
One affogato, one matcha latte, and two pastries came out to $35 plus tip, which already sets expectations high. Unfortunately, the affogato was the breaking point. The ice cream had visible ice crystals and tasted cheap, closer to something pulled from a freezer at a grocery store than a premium dessert. For that price, it should be smooth, rich, and indulgent. This was none of those.
The matcha was fine but unremarkable, and the pastries did nothing to justify the cost. Overall, it felt like paying luxury prices for very average, sometimes below-average quality. Definitely not worth it.
Not nice experience, full of people standing up waiting for you to leave to use the dirty table.

Slow but pleasant service, suburban two car garage style decor, excellent tasty coffee with complex flavor profiles.

nasty coffee, the 7/11 I went to during college made better coffee than this. Rude staff that make u wait forever. Why does every expensive cafe downtown have bad seats? Is this on purpose to stop loitering? Or go for a chic ‘waiting area in children’s hospital’ look? Go to Starbucks reserve or something
They make fabulous coffee and I've always had a wonderful experience with the staff. I always stop in when Im down on Michigan

They have good coffee, but the service is always slow and disorganized and has never gotten better. They also set up their counter for making coffee and service backwards. Blue Bottle corporate should stop by and fix this place.

Coffee was delicious as always! In my experience, it never misses. My only negative with this location is there is so little seating area… they might as well just make it a “to go” only spot.

Best oat matcha latte and decaf cappuccino in town.
Megan and Kat are fantastic baristas, their latte art and their coffee are always perfect!

Today I tried their holiday ginger biscuit version of the Nola (which the original Nola is my favorite there) and I have a nut allergy - I asked the barista if there were nuts in the holiday syrup and she said there were not, but when I left I checked the website and it had listed “Contains: Almonds” on the drink (see image attached). I brought the drink back inside and showed this to the barista, who was incredibly apologetic and refunded the drink, as well as provided me cards for a free drink in the future.
After checking further, I realized it was a typo on the Blue Bottle website- I got mine with whole milk, yet the 12 oz size says almonds and the 16 oz does not. The drink itself was actually delicious and the staff is so so nice there. She handled this incredibly well, as dealing with allergies going wrong is a very scary experience. So a huge thank you to the individual working the register today for being so kind, and I hope Blue Bottle’s website is more careful about what they list on their website for allergies! Excited to go back and get to enjoy this drink, and I hope the barista there knows she did everything right and that she could in that instance!

It’s not easy to get good coffee in Chicago, but I really love this place. I’d dare to say it’s the only suitable place for coffee connoisseurs from Australia and Europe in downtown Chicago.
