We used blue plate for catering for our wedding and had a wonderful experience. Gary was super helpful throughout the process and made things easy. Our wedding was outdoors a decent distance from their facility which can be challenging for catering but the food was great. We used them for linens and china as well which were solid. Service was great and pricing was fair. We would absolutely recommend them and use them again.

The appetizers were interesting and yummy, my favorite being the street corn tartlet and the bacon wrapped chorizo - YUM. I was so impressed with the quality of all the meats we had, the beef tenderloin with chimichurri was my personal favorite but the miso salmon and apricot chicken were a hit with our guests. They even offered a special (and bland) meal for my very dietary restricted friend. The end of the evening popcorn bar was such a fun touch to an evening on the dance floor. David’s team was easy to communicate with leading up to the day and day of, were fabulous at the table sides and making sure things were tasty, clean, and full! My wife and I got married 11 years ago and used Blue Plate as our caterer. Despite the time that's passed, we still regularly get compliments from guests about the quality of the food and level of service from the Blue Plate team. At the time, Missy handled our event and was spectacular in every regard. She worked with both families to put together a menu, allowed us to do two tastings to make sure that everything was just right, and made sure that everything went smoothly on the day of the event.
The food itself was excellent. I still regularly have family members compliment the appetizer plate that Missy and her culinary team put together. Several members of my family in the restaurant business also complimented the quality of the food, and the logistical precision with which is was served (see below). For our families, getting the food right was critical, and Missy + Blue Plate delivered.
In addition to the menu itself, Missy and her team provided a high level of catering service. For example, she made a point of assigning someone to make sure my wife and I were able to eat during the reception. She also coordinated with the servers to make sure that all guests at a table received their food at the same time (vs. the more common practice of food getting served in a rolling fashion, which can leave some people waiting while others eat or dishes arriving at different temperatures), and made sure that vegetarian and vegan guests received their food at the same time as everyone else. These are seemingly small details, but together they made a big impression on us and our guests. After our wedding, several of our friends used Blue Plate for their own receptions based on their experience at our reception and our recommendation.

Blue Plate Chicago was hired to help us with a huge event spanning over five days in our showroom located in Fulton Market, Chicago. Some days extended from 12 to 15 hours, and despite the demanding schedule, they went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The staff's dedication and energy were truly remarkable, making the entire event a great success.
Every single bite of food was not only artistic and creative but also truly delicious. Over the five-day span, we had over 5,000 people experience their amazing service and food.

We used Blue Plate for our wedding and could NOT be happier! Specifically, we worked with Missy, and she was the best. When we first started working with them, our planner told them all of the food we really like. Using them as a starting point, Missy sent over a ton of different options (in line with our preferences) to select from for each course, all of which looked so delicious on paper. We narrowed them down and did a tasting. The tasting was a full dinner party of its own, which was such a fun experience! All of the food was SO good too.
At the wedding, Blue Plate delivered the best food and service we could’ve asked for. We had passed apps, dinner service, a dessert bar, and late night food. There was plenty of food at each moment of the evening. The service was super quick to bring the meals out to the tables (one of our biggest things was that we didn’t want some tables to be waiting too long while others got their meals). Blue Plate also provided the bartending staff, and they were amazing as well. There was rarely a line, the bartenders were super friendly, and they made delicious cocktails. My husband and I also had our own dedicated server for the evening, which we weren’t expecting, and it made all the difference. Sabrina was really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed all evening.
Fast forward to today, our friends and family keep talking about how amazing the food and service was (we got married over a month ago). We highly recommend using Blue Plate for any catering needs!
