I ordered Twice. from there. I couldn’t be more disappointed. Bread is stale. The first time I had regular sandwich. The bread was too much. The 2nd time I ordered rye. The bread was stale and I only had half so far. I’m gonna grill the other half and second sandwich. One piece of meat and cheese. I don’t. So again taste only the stale bread. Chocolate chip cookie also hard and no taste. Best sandwich sign needs to taken down. Extremely disappointing. I would have brought it back but it’s miles from my house.

I had driven past this place several times, and finally, I had the time to stop in. It does not surprise me that they have been in business since the 70's! I was greeted as I walked in... after a brief chat with their employee, i decided to go with his recommendation. I ordered the 3 cheese ham sub with all the fixings and a drink. The bread was fresh and so soft. The tomatoes were ripe, as was the lettuce. The swiss, provolone, and american cheese were delicious. The ham and oils were perfect. It has definitely been a while since I have tasted such a fresh tasting submarine. The service was excellent. The establishment was very clean and quiet. Parking was plentiful. I will definitely dine in next time I'm in the area.

I hope they are wearing gloves here now. A few years ago I went here and the woman was making me a sandwich with her bare hands touching cold cuts with her bare hands. I asked if they wore gloves and she said they clean their hands very well. So nasty. I don’t know what strangers do with their hands. This was one of the most disgusting Chicago food experiences that I ever remembered and I never returned here. I’m shocked they are still in business. Were they so cheap to not afford disposable plastic gloves?
