I do not know how to describe the fowl smell here. I came here last weekend with friends and tried again this weekend but it makes me nauseous, and the rest of my friend group (a couple of them regulars) can't take it either. Cell Block smells better than this.

Was hoping to get my basement flooded but instead it smelled like flooded basement. $8 for a well drink in Boystown isn't terrible but not great either. Bartender was the best part of the experience.

Amazing bar. Great KJ, such fun and friendly clientele, and amazing bartenders. Legitimately everyone is so nice here and it's really community oriented.

If you want to sing wait an hour. You’ll hear the friends of the dj three times over while you wait. Tonight I waited 3 hours, hear one singer 5 times. I sang once. It’s not fun.

Always fun, especially on weekend karaoke nights! As of writing, it starts at 9 PM Fri/Sat, and 8 PM on Sundays, then goes to just before last call.

Be advised, this is not your typical bachelorette party's karaoke stage. The sound system is great, and the singers are generally *phenomenal*. It can be intimidating to get on stage here, but talent is absolutely celebrated!

Liquor drinks pour heavy, so consider that before ordering a double. The staff are friendly and attentive, but the crowd inside can get so thick to the point it's hard to get a drink, find a seat, or even walk around.

On weekdays, crowding isn't normally an issue, but on Fridays and Saturdays, I would generally advise arriving early (before 10 PM, in most cases) if you easily get claustro-/agoraphobic.

ok don't come for me! so about 2 weeks ago was my first time ever in boystown ( im 39 ) 😆 I KNOOOOW! Anyway i had come into town early and ended up exploring chicago allll on my own for the day. Now keep in mind, i went to ALL the places in boystown 😆 WOW! I had asked around about karaoke and everyone said this was the place to go. I make my way there and i walk in and instantly was welcomed and people were talking to me and it was just so nice! yes its a BAR not a club, I loved that lol i was "Josh from Peoria " that night and i have never sang karaoke anywhere else but my hometown bar, i was so freekin nervous lol. but after a few of the THC drinks well i was good to go. im sober so it was really awsome that they have non alcohol drinks. overall i spent most of my night there. it was so welcoming and people were so nice and told me different places to go and things. I will definitely be back and ive soooo told my Peoria friends about yall!

Bouncer is terrible. He kicked my wife out for standing by a back door and was combative for absolutely no reason. He thinks he owns the streets too as he tried kicking her off the curb when she was waiting for her uber. Don’t do business here if you’re looking to have a good night.

We came here to celebrate a birthday and brought battery operated fake candles. After being there for an hour and having mostly full drinks they decided to kick us out with no explanation. We were just singing along with the Karaoke. If it was the fake candles we would have turned them off but they offered no options or explanations. For some reason for the first hour it wasn’t an issue though? Guess they just wanted to get their money and get us out. Talk about a non gay friendly gay bar. 0 out of 10. Take your money elsewhere.

Decent bar selection and the bartender was nice. One of the barbacks working was creepy and ruined the whole vibe.

The bartender last night said that we either had to purchase an alcoholic drink or pay for a water separately. Then he charged us $5 for water from the tap for my drunk friend and immediately put it in his pocket… super unfriendly and unsafe environment especially when we asked for something as basic and necessary as water on a night out. Wouldn’t go back for the service alone

If I could give this bar a zero I would. Service at this place is horrible. Bartender was rude to my friend and I for absolutely no reason. Ignored us for the longest time too. After finally pouring our drinks, he told me he was closing us out. My first and last time here. Too many other places on Halsted to go to where customers are welcome.

To add insult to injury, the nasty bartender gave himself an extra tip without authorization.

Make sure you get a copy of your receipt before you leave here.
