We were there for NYE, and we had such a wonderful time. The drinks, the food, the service was all wonderful. I had never heard of Bobby's before last month and I'm glad I found it! I tried the Helena's Curse drink - didn't know what to expect - and loved it. My husband had the Pinot Noir and thought it was a great find. For food - I had the Wedge Salad (beautiful presentation) and hubby had the Octopus. I always love a Wedge and this one was not the usual - half a head of lettuce, but a smaller subset and that made it easier to cut up and eat. I was able to snag a little bite of the octopus and I would get that next time. Another great presentation and I loved the dressing on top. For entrees - I got the Shrimp and Grits and he got the Bobby's Burger. Both were excellent. I loved the corn in the grits - a very nice addition and the shrimp was nice and charred. I ended up bringing half of it home - it was that large. And it wasn't one of those massive burgers (thankfully) where you can't eat it easily either - lovely buttered bun on top, too. We saved room for the Sticky Toffee Cake. Yum! Cake, toffee sauce and ice cream - where can you go wrong? Our server, Matthew was great. Always there to get us another drink or more food. He even suggested taking pictures of the night for us. What a wonderful suggestion! Bobby's definitely exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a wide range of food and drinks. We can't wait to go back!

I'm still here and had to write this. Details: We are a party of 14 on a Monday night and we have server who doesn't know what they're doing. We had to ask him for everything...drinks, appetizers, water, dessert menu etc. Our server never once (not once) asked for refill drinks or asked if we were ready for entrees or dessert. We had to repeat our drink orders and ask for the status multiple times. In addition to that, the restaurant even forgot one of the entrees and since we wait until everyone receives their meal to eat, our food was cold by the time we ate it. It was honestly an all around disappointing and sad experience. We will never come back.

We took our great friends to dinner here before a show at the Apollo Theatre on Saturday, 12/7. The food was good, the service was TERRIBLE! The service got worse as the restaurant filled up. Our initial order of drinks came OK, after that, forget about it! Excuses came faster than our service. Our friend ordered a glass of wine to have with her fish, an excuse came, ‘the bar is backed up’, but her wine never arrived. We ran out of water, no one serviced the table.

The food options in LP are fairly limited. When Bobby's opened, we were there on one of the first few nights and kept coming. We were fortunate to meet Bobby one of the first few things there and he was great, personable and appreciative. The cocktails are always very well done and I have yet to have a bad meal yet, after 12-15 times so far. Hoping Bobby's keeps on kicking. Definitely give it a try if you want a nice meal without having to travel south of Division.

We stopped in here for drinks on Saturday without knowing they have a really good happy hour menu! Half a dozen cocktails for $8, a few glasses of wine for $6-$8, beer for $3-$4 and some snacks that looked tasty, though we did not eat so I can't comment on the food. Our server who was also the bartender was friendly and quick to bring us several rounds within the 1.5 hour happy hour window so we left quite cheery! We will definitely go back to take advantage of what I would say is the best happy hour deal in that neighborhood. The only downside I saw was it was pretty empty... really unsure why

We recommended Bobby's to a friend who ran the Marathon today. She and her husband loved the food, but mentioned how gracious the staff was recognizing her and other finishers. Plus, they treated her to dessert. Way to be a part of the neighborhood and Chicago, Bobby's. Thank you

We ate brunch here one Sunday in the summer and really enjoyed the ambiance (seated outdoors) and food. We went early afternoon so there wasn't much of a crowd, and service was fine. Fast forward 4 months - really wanted to try them out for dinner since we enjoyed the food at brunch. Made an open table reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday; arrived at 6:35. As we walked in, no one was at the hostess stand so we waited a minute. Host comes over, takes our name, looks up reservation, tells us to wait a minute; as he is telling us this, looks behind us at a party of 4 whom had just walked in and said something to the effect that they had just chatted on the phone, come right up. He proceeds to sit them as we moved awkwardly to the side. I was a hostess years ago in college and I knew that was not ok, but whatever, it happens. Now we get seated and 7 minutes pass without any acknowledgement by a waiter, bus-boy, no water poured in our glasses, etc. I thought it was possible there was a mixup and our server wasn't alerted we were his/her table, so went and told the host as he was setting or doing something at a table near us. He then rudely pointed at the server pouring wine at the table right next to us and said 'He's yours'. Sat back down, now server at table next to us definitely knew we were his table. Continue another 5 minutes without a 'Hello, I'll be right with you' or any acknowledgment. At that point, we got up and left. We are not the type to do this; we would have loved to give this place a shot as the dinner menu looks good and love to support the new restaurants in our neighborhood, but a restaurant at this price-point and caliber should not have these kinds of service issues. It truly takes away from the experience and food if the service is terrible, so I'm glad we left. Please consider some sort of staff training.

Had an amazing dinner with my family and another family on a trip to get our sons settled in at DePaul. Wonderful service, ambiance, and food. Will make this a recurring meal on each trip back to Chicago!
